Too bad the Indians didn't win, I'd really liked to have had tomorrow's game mean something, but the Yankees aren't going to play many of their regulars, pretty much conceding the Red Sox a playoff spot...

Why do they win the East? If the Sox win tomorrow, they'd be tied for the division. Wouldnt they have to play Monday to determine who wins it? :confused

If the Red Sox win tomorrow, the Yankees and Red Sox finish in a tie, one game up on the Indians...so it's just an issue of who has the division, and who has the wild-card...the Yankees have the head to head tie-breaker.

 

If it ended in a three way tie, the Yankees and Red Sox would play double elimination for a playoff spot, with the Indians getting the loser in a win or go home...to bad that isn't going to happen, it would have made for two great days of T.V.

It is similar to what the WHite Sox and Indians did. If the Red Sox win tomorrow they would finish 1 game ahead if the Indians, so the Yankess have the tie breaker head to head over the Red Sox, so the Yankees win the East and the Sox would win the WC. And if the Red Sox would lose tomorrow, then ovbiously the Yanks would would win the divison. SO no matter what happends tomorrow the Yanks win the divison.

Where did I discredit last years Red Sox team? They were one of the best teams in a very, very long time. They were very tight-nit, and were incredibly clutch. I have never discredited that team and never will - That team was one to remember, truley something special.

 

As far as my comment to Passion, I'm sure you all forgot it, but he made that comment "I'll be smoking my division title cigar" a while ago - I figured I'd bring it back so he knew I didn't forget. Though I probably should have added a wink smiley so you all new it was in jest...I feel Passion and I are on pretty good terms for being fans of two major rivals. Relax. :cool

 

Also, just for reference, it's not like the Red Sox aren't going to make the playoffs and we aren't going to meet in the ALCS...this is just a minor award on the way to a major one. I'm certain we'll mail it in tomorrow, and we'll be meeting the BoSox in the Bronx in just over 2 weeks from now.

 

Really something special today though, I haven't loved a team like this since the 1996 Yankees. Chien-Aaron ChaCano!!!

I must admit I was wrong about the Yanks, but then again I had no idea that Robinson Cano, Chien Ming Wang (when healthy), Shawn Chacon, and Aaron Small would rise from the ashes to save this team, so just gotta give the Yanks their props.

i hate to say it but just goes to show you that the yanks are very dominate every year and there gonna keep being in the playoffs. i mean cmon there the yankees people. how can you have a playoff series without the yanks? oh well sox will get em tomorrow.

YES! I totally agree with you. I want the Indians to win the WC now, not Boston.

I love Red Sox and Yanks fans, so arrogant and immature, and their representatives on this board show it perfectly.

 

People wonder why everybody hates those 2 squads. I'd rather live 80 years and never see the White Sox win a playoff game then become a tool member of one of those fanbases.
