Sage Rosenfels needs to get a shot at QB or this new kid Lemons. Gus straight up SUCKS. Ronnie Brown has been the truth, Gus just SUCKS. Gus cant throw the out post pattern, every time he tried it was 5 feet short of the reciever.

Heh.

Back when he was the Bengals starter, I remember picking up Hugg in my car and having Gus team pictures plastered all over my car with the words "Gus Bus" emblazoned underneath. Needless to say, he threw 2-3 picks, we lost and ended up going 2-14 that season. I also ripped all those pictures down after the game and hated all the way home. That guy, is a turd.

He was talking about the spelling. Not calling for him to keep on starting. Although maybe he was... :plain

I say give sage a shot...why not?? see if he can do it!!!!

i believed in gus, i was pulling for him but he cant do it.

Gus has gotten worse every game. At this rate he will be somewhere on the level of Ray Lucas by the 15th game.

He just can't hit people with the football. His decision-making isn't terrible usually, but he's just not a good passer. It also doesn't help that his receivers blow. Chambers is just a big tease. He's not a difference-maker. The gap between, say, Chad Johnson and Chris Chambers is tremendous. You put someone the caliber of a Chad Johnson on the field and a lot of those ball getting thrown Chris' way get caught. Marty Booker ain't much either.

I don't think starting Sage will make one bit of difference, but it might be interesting to watch.

Also, Ricky Williams has been mediocre or worse since the 2003 season. I don't think he broke a single tackle during 2003, and I don't think he's broken one this year. That Ronnie Brown 65-yard run reminded me of the 2002 Ricky when he'd just bowl over people, and then run away from them in the open field. Now Ricky just tries to run around people. So far, Ricky has been a serious downgrade from Sammy Morris, and the fact that he's taking so many carries away from Ronnie makes it even worse. Ronnie has 17 carries combined the last two games for 117 yards. Ricky has 11 carries for 7 yards. I mean...come on. FREE RONNIE BROWN.

whats the worst that could happen if sage takes over?? we lose the rest of our ten games and finish last and draft leinart? how disappointing that would be /sarcasm

I was talking about 18 games, though.

If we draft Leinart, I'm going to kill myself. We need an LT or CB as much as we need a QB.

We're debating over which QB is the best out of a bunch of untalented rejects.

Its like trying to pick whether I want Al Leiter or Darren Oliver as my opening

day pitcher.

The Dolphins are done. They gave up already, playing like absolute crap. Even McMichael and Chambers, once our Pro bowl guys, have been playing to the level of this team.

And I don't know what the official attendance was yesterday, but I saw more people at Marlins games, which I think would be the first time ever.

This city is already waiting for the start of the NBA.

If we draft Leinart, I'm going to kill myself. We need an LT or CB as much as we need a QB.

I second that. No Leinart please.

I think Leinart's stock has been dropping a little. Vince Young will probably be the first QB taken.

I think we need a QB more than anything else. Yeah, we have weaknesses at a lot of other places, but you can cover for those a little. You can't cover up a sh*tty QB, and QB just happens to be the most important player on the field.

man we aint drafting a qb!!!!

we need an o.line men.....and if we are a bad team we trade are high ass draft pick to team 4 there 2 first round picks.... so we can get two o line men!!

the O line is a joke, all thou aint play that bad last night... but still none them are pro bowl caliber........

as for qb we ethier sign Joey Harringtion or David Carr...... next year with all the cap room we will have......

as 4 gus, ya i've given up on em as well, lets start sage, "wha do we have to lose? gus overthrows on the deep passes and under throws on the short passes and he aint even on the same page with his WR's.... and did you see his facial expression when sage hit that 77 yard bomb....

the expression was like "damn i just lost my job again."

as 4 ricky its only been two games he aint gonna light up nobody until like his 4th or 5th game...... we need to take the kc approach with ricky and ronnie...... let ronnie run 2 series and than ricky 1...... clearly we should steal a page outta the KC play book they doing something right with there running game.......

and CB daniels will devlop into something nice in a year or 2 we just gonna have to put up with the growing pains

Just because no one seems to remember this, in 2003, Ricky broke 4.0 yards per carry in THREE out of SIXTEEN games. Compare that to 2002, when he had FOUR games with better than 6.0 per carry, SIX games with better than 5.0 per carry, and NINE games with better than 4.0 per carry.

The difference between those two years? Ricky slimmed down in order to get "quicker", stopped running over people, and started to try to run around them. This year's Ricky is probably smaller than the 2003 Ricky.

And Odom, you can't possibly be serious about Joey Harrington. David Carr? Maybe. The line has been okay this year. The QB play has been awful. We're not going to get a stud QB in free agency. Nearly every good QB in the league right now is with the team that drafted him with maybe one or two exceptions (Trent Green, Hasselback, anyone else?)

The dolphins need one of the following;

OT to take over at LT (if we had the top pick in the draft we draft fergusian in a heartbeat). This is a deep deep solid tackle draft, I want one.

OG-C There is a few good guards and centers coming out like digory from Fla and Eslinger is another 1-2 round guy.

LB - there is a few solid linebackers coming out. Greenway, brooks (who got hurt), Hodge, Hawk. It will bea deep linebacker draft.

QB - Leinhart, Jacobs most likely in the first but there is alot of good 2-3-4th round QBs coming ut I would like to take a look at perhaps.

DT - We need a stud nose guard for the 3-4 system and keep guys off of Zach. There is a trio of them.

I think Offensive line (interior) is just as big a need as QB. I am not sure leinhart has the arm strength to be a stud in the NFL. Jacobs might be a project but long term he might be better. Grabowski, Culter both have al of the tools also..

I dont like Young or leak. I think they should stay in college 1 more year then come out.

Vince Young.

or Marcus vick if hes a senior or omar jacobs...

Vince Young is better than Michael Vick and Omar Jacobs.

Trust me, a sh*tty QB can be covered if you have an above average to good OL. Remember how good the offense was in 2001 when we had a sick OL? Lamar Smith had 1200 total yards and 8 TDs. Jay Feidler had 3600 yards of total offense with 24 total TDs. A rookie QB would get killed behind our OL and would have absolutely zero confidence (e.g. David Carr) and it'd be a waste of $50 million.

If I'm the Fins, I try to trade our top 10 pick for a mid-late 1st and mid-late 2nd. With the Mid-late 1st, I'd take either a CB or OL. Then with the two 2nds, I'd take an OL and a WR. Then take BPA the rest of the way.

While you make a decent point, I'd be much more inclined to agree with you on your assessment of our needs if our line were nearly as bad as you think, or even half as bad as last year's. In truth, the only problem with our line so far is the penalties.

They've given up only 10 sacks in 6 games. Only 7 teams in the NFL have given up less. This isn't because Gus is particularly mobile. And we're averaging 4.8 yards per carry. That's 5th in the NFL.

Those are the only numbers I know of by which to judge an O-line. There are only TWO teams in the NFL who are better than us in both categories--Denver and San Diego. I mean, by these standards, you could even argue that our line is one of the 5 best in the league. And while you wouldn't be insane to argue against the idea that our line is one of the best, to argue that they're one of the worst, you'd have to do so in the face of all evidence. I don't think there's a case to be made.

Gus Ferrotte has the lowest completion percentage of any QB in the league, and it isn't the line's fault. It's partly the WRs fault--we WAY overrated them, especially Chambers. But mostly, it's Gus' fault. For the most part, he's just no hitting the receivers.
