October 23, 200521 yr weve put shutters up like 7 times this year...it sucks putting them up then taking them down again....if this year is any indication on how it is going to be for the next couple of years i think i should invest in accordian shutters...does any one have accordians...how much roughly..... but at the end of the day i am 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000 times lukier than those people in new orleans...........and there fore i cant complain at all
October 24, 200521 yr well i have the regular aluminum shudders around my house except for the front door and the kitchen (3 windows connected) which are accordian, i know they are much more expensive but they're done in 10 seconds...however, i don't find the other aluminium shutters very difficult to work with as long as you don't cut your self, they're fairly easy to do....
October 24, 200521 yr Accordians are the way to go. You should invest regardless if you plan on living in South Florida the rest of your life.
October 24, 200521 yr We have aluminum shudders at home. When I get my own home, I am either getting accordian or impact glass.
October 24, 200521 yr I am tired; me, my dad, and my uncle starting putting them up this morning and fixed the yard and "getting the house as ready as possible". We finished at like 5 pm.
October 24, 200521 yr i don't know where you live but this is the first time I put my shutters up this season.
October 24, 200521 yr We've (my husband, son and a friend) have put them up twice. I'd do it ten more times to ensure my family's safety. Call me a schmuck, but let's see whose house is damaged when it's all over.
October 24, 200521 yr My family just leaves them on through Hurricane season. Not a bad idea, but when you get nasty letters from the Homeowners Ass ociation, you sort of want to take them down before you get a fine.
October 24, 200521 yr i didnt put them up during katrina but i admit i really underestimated it so i said f*** it, im putting them up this time and theyre staying up until the end of the season. better safe than sorry. now that thats taken care of, im more worried about losing power than anything else.
October 24, 200521 yr When I finally buy my house, I'm definately investing in the remote control, automatic kind. :shifty
