On yesterday's game they had a trivia question that asked who was last pitcher to throw a complete game in the WS?

Beckett, game 6 in 03

Yep, saw that. They also did a this day in baseball history when in 1997 the Marlins became the fastest team to ever win a World Series. They also showed Game 4 of what was supposed to be Roger's last game...

I'm still pissed that they wasted half the friggen 2003 WS DVD talking about that...

So, is the Rocket done now?

The Marlins were the fastest, but then in 2001 the D'Backs did it a year sooner.

So, is the Rocket done now?

My bet is yes.

Rocket's coming back, just sit tight and watch the drama unfurl.

I dont think Houston would be wise to pay him that kind of money again.

No freakin' way.

He's said that he's pitching for the U.S. in the World Baseball classic in the spring, so if he's going to keep himself in playing shape, why not earn another $15 million and play along side your son in S.T.? Plus the only reason he was going to retire in the first place (having his mother at his H.O.F. induction) is no longer an issues, so I think Clemens is back next season, maybe even for two more seasons to cement himself as unquestionably the greatest pitcher of our generation, and possibly of all time.

Not to mention, the guy's so damn cocky...you think he's actually going let a 2 inning debacle be his final game?

I think Pedro Martinez was the most dominating pitcher of our generation, but unfortunately for him his dominance won't last nearly as long as Roger's. Pedro was by far the best pitcher in baseball back when he threw 96.

I think pedro and greg maddux can also be looked at as the greatest of our generation. They had ten year or so runs where they were better pitchers then clemens ever was but clemens had a twenty year period where he was a top ten pitcher. Its the same argument for nolan ryan. Does being the greatest pitcher of a generation require that the pitcher be great for a long period of time or amazing for a short period.

Clemens will be back

I doubt anyone with his temperament would let a 2-inning stint in Game 1 of the WS and not being able to come out of the pen in extras in Game 3 be the end of his career. Do you think Josh would do the same if he were in the same situation?

No, Josh wouldn't. He'd be too pissed off. Thats where his cockyness and arrogance translates into leadership, while someone like AJ turns into a whiney brat.

When he got hurt after coming off the DL when he strained that back muscle, he wasnt pissed because he got hurt really, but that he let the team down.

The team feeds off his cocky swagger like a fat guy feeds off of Dennys.
