I couldn't agree more. I don't care if it has only been 5 games. Uggla should be batting 8th in this lineup, and he is forced to bat 6th! It is crazy. Don't get me wrong, I like Uggla...but we are seriously giving up 3 innings a game with gaping black holes in the 7th and 8th spot. What I wouldn't give for a bona-fide CF right now.

I'm one of the few around here who likes Olivo.

 

As for the other 2, not really, but it's too early to be talking trade. Value and market need to be established.

I know fire Bill Robinson oops I mean Jim Presley. Let's give them another week or so before the trade demands increase. I've said it before and I'll say it again THIS is the best team that Loria can afford at this time. I know in previous times the payroll was a helluva lot more, but this time it might Really be all he can afford.

No matter what we're probably not going to get much production from centerfield, but we're probably just going to have to live with that.

Yep, we at least need to trade for a CFer...maybe not ASAP, but in the next month or so.

Olivo is really solid defensively so his bat is not a huge concern and keep in mind, Abercrombie and Reed are rookies, they will find their groove soon.

Man, I really wish we had drafted Jacoby Ellsbury last year when we had the chance.

i like olivo simply because of his D. he could hit .230 for all i care so long as he keeps playing this well defensively. the mets broadcasters today said that olivo has been clocked at 98mph on throws to second. 98. wow.

Imagining Stokes in our lineup makes my mouth water. The only problem is that I don't see Girardi starting Willy everyday at catcher. I'd still love to see it happen.

Exactly, we should wait till the trading deadline.

Stokes so far has proven he can't play the OF, and is hitting a whooping .071 in AAA at the moment(couple at bats but still)

 

A guess when he plays a couple of games in LF during the minor league season and improves his # he can be looked as some what as an option, but at this moment Stokes is nothing more than trade bait.

you do know there is a point where good defense gets completely washed out by complete lack of hitting, which in Olivo's major league career has been a big problem.
