April 10, 200620 yr Author How many people can fit in that stadium? Around 44,000 if I remember correctly. Edit: http://www.ballparks.com/baseball/american/tropic.htm 45,000
April 10, 200620 yr How many people can fit in that stadium? Around 44,000 if I remember correctly. Meh. The Fish fans better get their butts over to PPS tomorrow and this week.
April 10, 200620 yr Author Might be less than that because some upper deck seats were obstructed in the past. Free parking and cheaper tickets/food/drinks really help.
April 10, 200620 yr Author i love the Trop. I can't wait to get up there later this summer to see a game. I wanted to go today, but no one could tag along with me. I hope to go tomorrow to the Marlins home opener.

Thanks It will be interesting to see how they do this year with the lower prices. However I am sure if they end up being as terrible as they always are, the crowds will still not come.
April 10, 200620 yr Author All I can say is that people up there are very excited. Free parking and cheap beer may be enough to get Tampa Bay residents in to watch the Rays.
April 10, 200620 yr All I can say is that people up there are very excited. Free parking and cheap beer may be enough to get Tampa Bay residents in to watch the Rays. That is a winning combo. Do you know how much they are lowering beer prices? I remember a few years ago the lightning were giving free beer to season ticket holders. I would get season tickets to any team if they were giving free beer. You can just drink your ticket price

April 11, 200620 yr Congrats to our fellow Florida franchise in Tampa, but they sure ain't beating the Orioles. Hopefully the Marlins can get over 40,000 as well.
April 11, 200620 yr Our local WESH sports announcer was just talking about the D-Rays and in the end of his report, one of the other news people asked sarcastically "are those fans I just in the stands" He replied "yea, but they'll all be gone before long." :lol Glad we're not the only ones that get thrown under the bus for lack of fan support.

Acutally for the past few years Tampa has been worse than the marlins. The reason its a bigger deal that we arent drawing is because we have had pretty good teams and they havent
April 11, 200620 yr i love the Trop. I agree, sure it may not be pretty, but it's enjoyable to watch a game there.
April 11, 200620 yr congrats to the D-rays, with their new ownership I think many people will start to talk of their potential as perhaps the best ownership group in florida soon.
