If so, is it the guy who goes 'HEY PITCHER, ARE YOU SCARED?'
April 15, 200619 yr I was there....my first game this year. I'm a curse for Dontrelle. Every time I go to one of his games it's one of his rare off nights. Anyway, good game, good crowd. Team looks good. Reed looks like he belongs in High School Varsity game. I don't care how fast he is. He's not ready. And I think Olivo had a slinky in his mitt. Jacobs, Willy, Uggla all looked good.
April 15, 200619 yr Everyone there tonight gets a free papa johns pizza because Dontrelle won the game....they announced before the game that if dontrelle won we all get a box if we go withing 48 hours.....yay...hope you kept your ticket!
April 15, 200619 yr Just got back! What was the attendance tonight? I heard 12K and I find that hard to believe.... seemed like quite a bit more to me. If so that's awful. Still a great game though. :hat

April 15, 200619 yr I was in 254, nice and loud screaming things that probably no one understood but the people around me
April 15, 200619 yr I happen to be in town for my sister's wedding, so I caught my first game in 2 years (hey, I live a few countries away). Anyway, it was awesome. I was in section... 150, or 155, or something such. Blue seats (hey, I don't get to go to the park all that much). I was so into the game I barely even talked to my dad (well, except to give him scouting reports on Shadez and Hammer and some of the other guys). One thing struck me about some guys sitting a couple of rows in front of me. There was a girl with a Hermida shirt, and what appeared to be her brothers wearing Willis and Cabrera shirts. And they talked about the darkhorse rookies (like Carlos Martinez) like they really *knew* about them. I could not shake the thought that they were members of this site, but I didn't ask them. So I'll ask now: Do any of you fit that description? p.s. They were all blonde p.p.s. By the way, here are my quickie impressions of the first time I saw this guys playing live: 1. Shadez is pure awesomeness, but I felt sometimes he took too long in throwing the ball to first, leading to a lot of close calls that really shouldn't have been that close. And that's the *only* bad thing I saw about his game. 2. Olivo's defense is overrated. His throwing arm is great though. 3. Willy is one of the smartest hitters on the team. 4. Reed is an awesome bench player, coming in as a defensive replacement, for bunts, or pinch running duties. But giving him 5 at bats per game just makes him a liability. A lot of people around me thought he had a great at-bat when he fouled off all those pitches. I saw a guy with slow bat speed that was late time and time again on the very same 90mph fastball. 5. Nobody is pitching to Cabs. And Jacobs isn't helping matters, although it's still early. I'm worried Miggy will develop bad habits by feeling forced to go after so many bad pitches. His RBI groundball was off a ball out of the strike zone. And I'm a firm believer that hits on groundballs are based on pure luck. 6. Carlos Martinez has a very solid career ahead of him. 7. Borowski looked like crap. Really, almost all of his pitches were out of the strike zone. Luckily, the batters he was facing weren't very good, and they all chased his crap, continually keeping me amazed every time an out was recorded. 8. Hmmm... 5 2/3 IP allowing 2 ER when you have the worst stuff you're likely to have all year. I'll take it, with seconds. 9. I'm still in awe of Carlos Martinez. The only thing keeping him from being purely dominating is his control (or so it seemed on this game.) 10. The Washington starter must have injured his arm the inning before they took him out. Notice that he couldn't get a single pitch over the plate from that point on. All of the strikes he was getting were off fouls and misses on swings way out of the strike zone. Our team needs to learn a little more discipline at the plate.
