Marlins Promotion Screw-Up

Featured Replies

I was just watching MSNBC's Countdown with Keith Olbermann. The guy filling in for him listed the Florida Marlins as #2 of 3 on their top newsmakers list for today.

The reason?

For Jewish Heritage Night, the Marlins gave away T-shirts of Mike Jacobs. However, he is not Jewish.

The Marlins said that they just assumed he was.

:plain

Why does one have to do anything with another? Did they give away Alfredo Amezaga bobbleheads on Cinco de Mayo?

Sheesh.

The front office has denied this but it sure is a strange coincidence. Some may get a little PC peeved but I got a chuckle out of it.

:lol

Lone Starr: Oh, great, that's just what we needed: a Druish princess!

Barf: Funny, she doesn't look Druish.

Sean Green. I think he said that if faced with the situation of playing on Yom Kippur, he wouldn't do it.

Because people have to be enraged about something, otherwise they can't be happy.

Includes a few former Marlins as well. They could've honored Eddie Zosky ;)

Carew never converted. His kids were brought up Jewish, tho

LOL!!! Good one!

when Shawn Greene was traded to (or from) Tornoto (i forget which) he chose the city because of its Jewish Community. He has said that he would never play in a city that has a small Jewish Community.
