June 13, 200620 yr I have seen three really glaringly bad trades in baseball's history (that I can think of right now): -Sale of Babe Ruth to the Yankees -Mariners trade Jason Varitek and Derek Lowe (prospects at the time) to the Red Sox for reliever Heathcliff Slocumb. -Giants trade Joe Nathan, Francisco Liriano, and Boof Bonser to the Twins for A.J. Pierzynski.
June 13, 200620 yr Author Mike Piazza one should be up there for the fish. We gave up alot to get him. Except that we got AJ and Preston Wilson from the Mets for him. I do agree, however, that the trade with the Dodgers was strange, because we exchanged high-priced players (Gary Sheffield, Bobby Bonilla, Jim Eisenreich, CJ for Piazza and Zeile). I guess that was the only way the Dodgers would take our guys.

So we basically got Lowell and Preston for Piazza and I wouldn't consider it in a worst trade ever category by far.

The Indians just ran out of room for Phillips. However, if Peralta continues to hit .220, they're going to wish they could get him back.

We got Phillips and David Ross for nothing, and we got Arroyo for an outfielder we needed to get rid of. So basically we got Phillips, Ross, and Arroyo for Pena. All 3 of them have been major reasons why we are doing well early on. Hopefully Krivsky can wok his magic to get us some bullpen help.
