June 15, 200620 yr It was pretty strange that it took this long to pass them buy Yay. Once we were in last place in MLB, first it was KC, then Pittsburg. Now we're chasing the .406% Cubs.
June 15, 200620 yr A Marlins win tonight coupled with a Cubs loss (although Zambrano is pitching) pushes the Marlins ahead of the Cubs and pushes us within two games of leapfrogging the Braves.

June 15, 200620 yr They have no chance at playoffs and probably won't finish over .500, but I believe when all is said and done, this will have been a very successful season, especially if the fish end up on top of the Braves at the end.

Something that the old Marlins had never accomplish before.

Well you hate to count them out 100 %, especially winning even with some pretty poor offensive output in recent games. I seriously doubt they have a shot, but you just can't dismiss them midway into June. They are only 8 games back in the loss column, and have won 14 of 20. It's a wet dream at this point, but you have to keep faith don't you? And I strongly believe they can finish at .500 (or 80 wins)
June 15, 200620 yr as far as i'm concerned... we passed pittsburgh on our roadie. we are ahead of chicago. are tied with atlanta. the only column that ultimately matters is the loss column, you cant make those up.
June 15, 200620 yr our records at .400 now... a few weeks ago it was at like .270... the fish are totally going 100-0 for the rest of the season

June 15, 200620 yr 2005 Marlins had more potential though. Could be a good topic, fill in the blank : The 2005 Marlins had more potential _______________. -more potential to have Lowell pop up with the bases loaded and less than 2 outs. -more potential for an ace pitcher to lose every game down the stretch and on and on. So much for potential.

June 16, 200620 yr Author We just pass another pair. The Cubs .400 and the Devil Rays .403 with the fish .413! :hat Now chasing Nationals .441 and O's .441. Braves .448 should be our main goal!

I suffered from too much optimism the last two seasons.
June 16, 200620 yr Oh and werent you the person who said one of the Braves/Marlins games was going to be a blow out. .
June 16, 200620 yr Author Oh and werent you the person who said one of the Braves/Marlins games was going to be a blow out. . He did predicted a sweep before it happen. And he did said it was going to be a "blown game", not blow out. :whistle

June 16, 200620 yr Yeah troll prediction say we are going to lose today. Against a Canadian team with a 0-3 starter?
June 17, 200620 yr Author He look like a dependable pitcher against the Fish. Hanley needs to come back to earth, Uggla and some other guy can't do everything by theirself.
