June 18, 200620 yr There nothing I can add about Jacobs, but Hermida finally lifted his bat off his shoulder and went to work tonight with terrific results. Let's hope he gets hot.
June 18, 200620 yr Jacobs is red hot! congrats to him and i think Olivo hit to make it 4-2 was HUGE wit Uggla getting picked off for the 1st out of the inning.
June 18, 200620 yr After his performance last year, I knew Jacobs had to be playing better than he was earlier this year. Nice to see him coming around.
June 18, 200620 yr I went tonight. I must say, it was real enjoyable to see these guys bust there asses out there tonight.
June 18, 200620 yr Author Olivo has not yet turned the corner. His head isn't in the game yet. He had that big hit that snuck in there yesterday, yes, but he hasn't gained my trust yet. I remember vividly during the June 15th game where Olivo came to the plate in a key situation with Hermida on third and the pitcher's spot due up after him with 1 out. He swung and missed at three UGLY pitches. It was so bad I heard boos coming from the 6,000 or so that were there. .280, 5 HR, 21 RBI is more than adequate for a team with a 15 million dollar payroll. Most teams have catchers with similar numbers. Not every team can have a Pudge or Joe Mauer.
