What in the world is wrong with Hanley?

Featured Replies

In June he's batting a robust .119, with an OBP of .192. They should shake things up and bat him lower in the order until he can adjust to what major-league pitchers are doing to him.

Relax if you watch his ABs...you would see he works the pitchers really well...It's not like he's going after the 1st pitch every AB.

He's dancing at the plate and has been doing it for some time.

By this I mean he isn't staying back and planting his right (back) foot for power, instead he's lifting the foot as he shifts his left (front) foot forward to get into his attack position. It's a bad habit that's hard to break. They may have to tear down his stance completely to cure him of it.

Of course the back foot can't be totally stationary throughout a swing but he's moving it before making contact which is the fatal flaw.

No doubt Girardi and Presley are working with him on it and hopefully will have him cured soon. It's the major difference in Ramirez from April to June.

Yeah, Ive posted about his stance before. He moves around too much before he swings. However, is he still playing hurt (hand? back?)

Almost all of Hanely's damage this season has come against lefties as righties have held him down pretty good. Even when he was hitting well.

Just thought I'd point it out since his split is enormous and we have a 300OBP guy leading off for us right now.

He's always hurt. But yeah I'm going to have to rate this guy by numbers. He got just avg contact, poor power, and horrible defence. Take him out! There is a bench position all warm up by Aguila for him.

You sir are an idiot.

You are an idiot. Just go away.

Just put Amezega at second. 2/3 of the hits fro the Fish last night was from him as he went 2/4. I'm sorry but a slump this long will make you think his .300 rampage was just a hot start as his career is more of a .280's. We can't have a lead off hitter slumping for this long, you should move him down the order to 5th or 6th to give him a message that him slump can't be tolerated and he will be brought down if the team find someone making good contact and can make routin play look like routin out.

Now, B4P, that's a little much..

He's just severely mentally retarded with a bit of autism on the side.

I'm just saying this slump is lasting for weeks now!

He'll get out of it by hitting a ball so hard, it crashes through your window, smashes into the right side of your cranium, and you'll say 'WAFFLES! TASTY WAFFLES!'

Right if Hanley somehow hit atliest a double, I'll promise I'll say that quote in the game thread.

there is nothing wrong with pulling him into a lower part of the lineup while he works out of it. But he is by far the most talented SS out there he might be the most talented position player out there every day behind cabrera.

Watching the game you can see Hanley is making a conscious effort to dig that back foot in as opposed to during the homestand.

Big difference. Hopefully big results.
