July 12, 200619 yr You could make an interesting case for Uggla, but really, it's Cabrera. It's no coincidence that batting in front of Miggy has gotten Uggla a heck of a lot more productive than he was batting lower in the lineup.
July 12, 200619 yr Its because... HIS NAME...IS DAN UGGLA! HIS NAME, IS DAN UGGLA! stop stealing my line!
July 12, 200619 yr Its because... HIS NAME...IS DAN UGGLA! HIS NAME, IS DAN UGGLA! stop stealing my line! Can someone explain the origin of this line?
July 12, 200619 yr In the weeks leading up the to All Star Game, Tommy Hutton was trying to get Danny as much pub as he could for him to make the All Star Team. Whenever he would do something good, he would say "HIS NAME. IS DAN. UGGLA".
July 12, 200619 yr Uggla because he was one of the main reasons of why our team went on a long winning streak. :mischief2
July 12, 200619 yr To the six people that voted for Reggie, you are excommunicated from the 1st Church of the Florida Marlins. Anyway, I'm going with Dan "The Man" Uggla. I had to vote for Reggie just because of this post; it was like a revelation, like an angel came to me and said "Vote for Reggie, I promise salvation and baseball gear if you vote for him."
July 12, 200619 yr I voted for Cabrera. I'm new to the forums, and I'm so glad I found you guys! The official Web site's message boards are just dreadful: lots of idiotic Mets' fans and even some immature Marlins' fans arguing back and forth. It's nice to see real baseball fans with something coherent to say! :thumbup ETA: It was a disgrace that Miggie and Uggla didn't get an AB. And why the hell did Beltran play the whole game? Starters should not be getting 3 ABs in the All-Star game. The perfect time to bring Cabs in was in the 7th, when Wright was due up to bat for the 3rd time.
July 12, 200619 yr Cabrera and Johnson should be the only ones getting votes, as good as Uggla has been, Cabrera is that much better. I know Uggla is good and he's tied with Lo Duca for Mr. Intangibles but c'mon, production wise Cabrera is hard to beat.

July 13, 200619 yr Uggla because he was one of the main reasons of why our team went on a long winning streak. :mischief2 I love the Uggla story, but I don't believe that's at all true. He was hurt for a while there. Our long winning streak....really what should be called our excellent June.....was due to our consistent starting pitching in that month. Period.

Gotta give the bullpen the majority of the credit, IMO, for that great stretch. It's funny that when it was going well, the bullpen was flawless, and when it was going bad we lost like 5 straight when we had the lead in the 9th. Then again, most teams have great bullpen performances during winning streaks.
