July 25, 200620 yr He was good on BBTN and I can't see why they'd fire him, probably a behind the scenes matter....but he can be replaced on that show pretty easily. There are any number of former players that can talk about the Yankees and Red Sox continously for an hour.

Do I have to check with you before I form an opinion on an analyst? I hate Steve Phillips too. John Kruk and Karl Ravech are the only two regulars worth listening to now that Gammons is gone. They have some good analysts in Orel Hershiser and Orestes Destrade but they never use them.

July 25, 200620 yr Orestes Destrade is actually pretty good, & Orel is okay... But Harold had a little personality, like Kruk, where a lot of these guys can be pretty stale. Someone will pick him up. Just don't go to the Best Damn Sports Show Harold.

I agree with you about Morgan - he's probably the worst - by I hate Phillips and Kruk much more than Reynolds. I actually think Reynolds is a decent ESPN analyst (which is kind of like beating a bunch of retarted kids in Scrabble) and is the best now that Gammons, who is legitimately good, is gone. Very unfortunately this probably means more of Phillips, which also means I will do my best to avoid BBTN whenever possible.

July 25, 200620 yr I'm not saying this is the case, just a wild guess, but Fox is trying to get it's fledgling Sports (news) programming off the ground and so far it looks pretty amateurish. Perhaps Reynolds was caught negotiating with them or similarly, his contract with ESPNexpiring, has agreed to sign with Fox. The logical thing for ESPN to do in that situation is to immediately take him off the air to reduce his visibility and stature for the remainder of his contract in hopes of diminishing his value when he pops up on the competition. I hope it's something like that (again just guessing) rather than something sordid. I like baseball players talking baseball.

But I thought Reynolds was decent...he must have said something or drugs....who knows? Now we have to listen to Karl "I know nothing about baseball" Ravech. Baseball Tonight needs help because Steve Phillips can be annoying also and John Kruk is just a cheerleader.
