August 21, 200619 yr Sox lost in every way possible in these 5 games: Bad Starting Pitching (Games 1, 2, 3) Bad Bullpen (Games 3, 4) Bad Managing (Game 4 primarily) Bad Offense (Game 5) No way to sugarcoat or look for a silver lining in anything right now. The team is just not that good right now are beat up as hell and the remaining road is only going to be tougher.

August 21, 200619 yr I really hate how not only the Yankees are playing well but that the Sox got swept. The Sox are my favorite American League team. Hopefully they can salvage something from there starting pitching.

I know how to spell G-A-L-L-E-G-O and S-T-A-N-K-I-E-W-I-C-Z. I was AT the kick in the nuts playoff game against the Angels last year when they came back from a 5 run deficit only to have RJ and Sturtze allow two consecutive two run innings. And it was cold. And it was rainy. And I was in the bleachers. And my "friends" in Beantown were calling me on my cell phone. I have heard crap about the Yankees when they sucked in the 80's and early 90's. I have heard crap about the Yankees ever since the start of this "dynasty." I will hear crap about the Yankees long after Jeter and Mo and Bernie are enshrined in Cooperstown. August 22, 200619 yr I hope the Yankees win that division. I hate the Red Sox, and I think they are very close to being done. They have about the same chance to make the playoffs as the Marlins, which is not much.
August 23, 200619 yr I hate the Red Sox, and I think they are very close to being done. As long as they have a healthy Varitek, Manny, and Ortiz to go with some pitching and Papelbon, the Sox will continue to be a playoff caliber team. Unfortunately, like the Yankees, the Bosox are relying too heavily on old arms. I think losing Varitek is a bigger deal than most people [outside of Bosox and Yankee fans] realize. You're not just losing a solid bat, you are losing a guy who knows how to handle his pitchers and studies like a maniac to prepare for each team. There's a reason that pitching staff is falling apart without him behind the plate... BTW - Pena is no slouch. He can become a fixture in the OF for a long time in Beantown.
