September 30, 200323 yr ...and it's not going to be easy. I think that Penny is the only reliable pitcher we've got left on the line-up. Willis and Redmond have sucked lately. We need our offense to step up. Pierre, Castillo? Where were you guys today?
September 30, 200323 yr Yeah, but we have to win 2 of our next 4, and if we go perfect at home, we have to lose the rest of our games on the road to put it in perspective.
September 30, 200323 yr We need our offense to step up. Pierre, Castillo? Where were you guys today? Schmidt was great and they couldn't touch the ball like all the others couldn't.
September 30, 200323 yr Take it one game at a time, don't look at it as that. I mean, you guys should win tomorrow and if you do, all you have to do is win 2 of the next 3. If you win again, it's 1 of the next 2. And then you have Dontrelle on the mound .
September 30, 200323 yr The giants have to win 2 of the next 3 to avoid a game 5, and we all know that anything can happen in game 5. In a short series like this its all about one game at a time. Even a loss tomorrow, wouldn't be the end of things. That said it would make things alot tougher.
September 30, 200323 yr Look, it is not the end of the world. We have been asking for a while for a split in SF, and we still can get that. A win tomorrow makes this a best of 3 with us having homefield in two of those games. Add to that we might face a lefty tomorrow. What else could you ask for? Tomorrow needs to be won first, but if we win, we have to be the favorites.
September 30, 200323 yr Exactly. It's just one game and thinking we'd take both in San Fran is not being logical.
October 1, 200323 yr The whole "Willis has sucked lately" thing is getting old. In September, in 6 starts, he was 3-1 with a 2.89 ERA. That doesn't suck.
October 1, 200323 yr Guys, we are not going to be shutout again. This was just a little stage fright today. Tomorrow we will come out swinging the bats like we can. Penny is going to dominate and he WILL K Bonds TWICE! Ponson or Rueter will be tough, but the running game combined with the Giants defense will help out our run production compared to Schmidt today.
October 1, 200323 yr Guys, we are not going to be shutout again. This was just a little stage fright today. This was not stage fright this was getting dominated by a pitcher that was unhittable today. You put any team in the majors out there against Schmidt today and I promise you they wouldn't have gotten a run.
October 1, 200323 yr This was not stage fright this was getting dominated by a pitcher that was unhittable today. You put any team in the majors out there against Schmidt today and I promise you they wouldn't have gotten a run. Beckett Was unhittable also then both teams had 3 hits. Luck swayed to the Giants side today. And things are looking good for us if thats "the best that theyve got"
October 1, 200323 yr if we can just take advantage of our home-field and take at least one up in San Fran we'll be fine. also, if we're down 2-1 entering Saturdays game, would anyone consider starting Beckett on 3 days rest? the man has pitched lights out against the Giants this season and i even remember a 1 or 2 hitter he threw against them last season

Remember this is the 1st round of playoff and a team effort. You give the ball to Dontrelle and hope for the best.
October 1, 200323 yr just an idea i had, i dont like pitchers going on 3 days rest myself its only the 1st round, but if you lose your screwed. you cant be worried about your rotation in the next round if you dont make the next round
October 1, 200323 yr No, Dontrelle would be perfect for Game 4. At home and we will have a chance to clinch :thumbup trust me on that one. Besides, when the Giants are down 1-2 they might toss Schmidt out there on 3 days rest. After a CG, I like our chances that day.
