September 3, 200620 yr this one is about over gonna take a miracle to break Becket's serve for the match
September 3, 200620 yr He is supposed to play tomorrow, but there is more rain in the forecast. Be nice if he could get another match pushed back. His opponent will be Benjamin Becker. Ranked 112 in the world and 11 years younger than Andre. Please no rain ! I've got nice money on the underdog Becker. :thumbup I felt kind of like an ass rooting against Agassi, but i'll take the win.
September 3, 200620 yr Will people make fun of Agassi for crying like they did with Adam Morisson? Nice speech.

September 3, 200620 yr Will people make fun of Agassi for crying like they did with Adam Morisson? Nice speech. Apples to oranges. Hmmm...I don't see why. One won't play tennis anymore (his choice, by the way), the other is done with college ball (not his choice). I think the difference is that Morisson is goofy-looking and has a mustache. I honestly do. People don't love Morisson the way they love Agassi, and because of the way the looks, I suspect they never will. But maybe I'm reading too much into this. And I don't blame either guy for crying...I was just asking a question.
September 3, 200620 yr I don't think you can compare the two...Andre will never play professional tennis again. The crowds at the US Open have always been amazing. He's been there every single year for 20/21 years. He's one of the best tennis players of all time and to be honest what he did in the last week was pretty damn gutsy. I would be more shocked if didn't cry. There's a huge difference between him and Morisson. Andre is a legend. Morrison sure as hell isn't and probably never will be. And I honestly doubt if it were Andre's choice he'd be retiring. He simply is too old and the injuries have obviously caught up with him. In a perfect world, I'm sure he'd want to play forever. Anyways congrats to Andre on an amazing career.

And I don't blame either guy for crying...I was just asking a question. But to many, Morrisson's career was simply beginning while Agassi's is definitively ending. Plus, Morrisson had his fit while the game was still being played. I think the big thing is just that Agassi was overwhelmed with emotion from the crowd and the finality of it all while Morrisson was just being emotional. And, really, only one of those constitutes "cry-baby."
September 3, 200620 yr Yeah, but so basically it seems to me what both of you are saying is that it's okay for Agassi to cry because the crowd loves him, but not for Morrison because the crowd doesn't love him. And maybe that makes sense for Agassi, but it doesn't for Morrison. Both of them were losing something they love. Sure, Morrison will still play basketball (and Agassi will still play tennis, too, just not on tour), but the NBA is not at all like college. He's going from the big fish in a small pond, to the little fish in the big pond. Life will be very different for him. It would appear the only measure we use to judge who should and should not cry is whether or not we like the person...so, it's all about us, and not at all about what the person is going through.
September 3, 200620 yr Arguing for no reason. Agassi was awesome. Wow..... american tennis now. Roddick and Blake.. two guys who can't sniff Feder's jock. I couldn't name another american tennis player if i tried.
September 7, 200620 yr Anyone watching this Haas/Davydenko match? What a battle. In the 5th set, Davydenko a game away from winning the match and going to the semi-finals.
