A-Rod...

Featured Replies

A-Rod is performing abysmally this postseason, and the Yankees are one game away from elimination. With all the discontent that has been rampant in New York since his arrival, will this be the final straw? Will this postseason be the nail that shuts the coffin on A-Rod's Yankee career? If so, where will he go? And which team has the resources and/or the desire to take him?

Here are his ALDS stats for 2006:

They have to have a scapegoat if they lose this series.

Why not A-Rod?

I voted Yes. I'm just curious if there's anyone who thinks otherwise...

I'm pretty sure that he'll be a Yankee in 07...who else would take him? I want Detroit to win, but still...I hope A-Rod has a good postseason...it sucks to see him ridicule himself like this.

The only team who I think would be able to afford him/trade for him, would be the Angels.

That being said I think he stays a Yankee.

Can't wait till he gets out of New York and blows up somewhere else...

they dont deserve him

I've yet to speak to a Yankee fan that likes A-Rod. I work at a coffee shop and if a Yankee fan comes in, I ask them about him, because I find the subject so interesting. More often than not, they couldn't care less. This is a guy who has a chance to be the most prolific offensive player in history, yet they don't care, and in many cases there is open animosity towards him. Why? From fans of his own team?

Why? The way he handles himself. He isn't a likeable guy. Never has been. When his back is up against the wall, the worst of him comes out. I've always felt (Seattle, Texas, New York) he had such a fake personality.

I hope Steinbrenner takes full control back of this team if they lose tommorrow and he dismantles pieces of it. It should be glorious.

I'd love for him to be a Marlin.....he'd flourish down there.....a la Benitez, Borowski, Todd Jones....it's way too quiet for him there....he'd love it.

The Rangers are paying $10 mill worth of his salary and the Yankees would most assuredly take about $5-7 mill per year of his contract in this hypothetical trade, so I don't think it's nearly as impossible as you state it is.

A trade that a Yankee fan friend of mine keeps saying that he can see happening is ARod to the Cubs for Prior and Ramirez.

I still think he stays, but I would not be shocked if he gets dealt.

i think he'll probably stay although those fans don't deserve him. most yankee

fans are spoiled and retarded. heck, they even booed roger maris when he

was getting close to babe ruth's homerun record.

Ugh. Watching A-Rod get a standing ovation from the Yankee faithful during game 1 was sickening. Of course we're back to basics now that he's gagging all over himself. I hope he gets traded. He's a likeable guy on a hateable team.

I think he'll get traded. If the Yankees are desperate to trade him, they will. And they'll take up some of his contract and get some big name pitcher in return. Their line-up is stacked enough to lose A-Rod. Yes, he's good and the fan in New York are stupid, but they can always sign someone to some ridiculous contract.

Considering Prior is never healthy and Ramirez is a FA, I don't see that happening.

He can just opt out...otherwise he has three years left at like $12 and a half or something.

So he better have a damn good reason to opt out.

Arod is not gone.

I disagree the Yankee's will keep A-rod so far with them he hasnt done ANYTHING in the playoffs and the Yankee's realize that if they want to improve in the post season A-rod will be gone somehow

That was the same reaction probbaly made when we signed Mando to a 1 year deal and Borowski as well.....The lack of pressure would let A-Rod flourish down in Florida....He'd be tremendous for the team/
