February 8, 200719 yr I hope those "figurines" are bobble heads. FIGURINES does not mean bobble heads. it would specify bobble head, as it has the past few years. as you can see from the june 23rd game when they are giving away "dashboard bobbleheads"
February 8, 200719 yr I'm looking forward to getting: marlins carflag, willis, hanley and cabrera figurines, 1997 WS shirt, pennant, and DVD, beach cooler, gas can, the JJ growth chart, adn the marlins travel mug!!! a lot of great stuff! I'm also looking forward (and curious about) the marlins community foundation garage sale. do they sell game-used memorabilia? stuff like that? anyone know what prices are like? they should have a dan uggla bobblehead day. Yea they did last year. Along with some of the promotional give aways from over the years. And things like old media guides, etc. I bought one of the lunch boxes that were a give away for a friends daughter last year for a buck. They are having Fan Appreciation Weekend and then we still have 3 games left during the week. I wonder if they will do the jersey give away that Sunday or wait until the Thursday game.

February 9, 200719 yr Marlins Thunder Sticks sounds kind of cool as does the 1997 WS Champions t-shirt.
February 9, 200719 yr May 10th...Weather Day? I don't like the sound of that.... I think CapeFish should throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
February 9, 200719 yr or another guy who i know on internet call barometer bob he have talk show about weather event in internet
February 10, 200719 yr The first seven acts include Nadia Turner (after the Philadelphia game April 7), Cheap Trick (after Washington on April 21), Kansas (after San Diego on May 5), El Gran Combo (after New York Mets on May 26), Disco Fever featuring Gloria Gaynor, Tavares and France Joli (after Tampa Bay on June 9), Jo Dee Messina (after Minnesota on June 23) and Joan Jett (after Atlanta on June 30).

Wasn't Nadia Turner that girl with the afro on American Idol? We couldn't do better than her?

Well I guess if we arent going to pay for talent on the field, we arent going to pay for talented bands to come play after games. The remaining six saturday games after June 30th will be announced at a later date. Maybe they will splurge and get the village people :confused
February 13, 200719 yr CPA NIGHT!!!!! how about free chicken tuesday shufishfan? What do you think about that?

Can you show me any team that hires top rung talent to play a concert after a regular season game? Can you show me any top rung talent that would actually play an after game concert? When they announced this promo I expected to see "state fair" type talent (betting right now one of those bands to be announced will be Molly Hatchet), not the Rolling Stones. And it looks like that's what we are getting. Along with pre game activities and a fireworks display to boot. I thought it was a great idea that goes beyond what should be expected of any team in any league and yet you managed to slide a FO insult into it. Amazing.

You going for the free concerts or to watch the Fish play some ball???

I would be willing to bet no matter what band was playing they would have turned it into an ownership slam.
February 14, 200719 yr are saturday ticket prices going up for these stupid concerts? i don't want to see any washed up bands play, i want to see baseball.
February 14, 200719 yr Lawyers Appreciation Night has me excited, even though I completely expect it to be a Bill Veeck type promotion where lawyers (like me) will be charged double for admission.

I thought it was a great idea that goes beyond what should be expected of any team in any league and yet you managed to slide a FO insult into it. Amazing. Actually yes. The boston bruins have had pretty good bands play after games. I went to a panthers bruins game a two years ago and Godsmack played after the game. I went to another game and the drop kick murpheys were there. I know they have done a few others this year but I cant recall who they were off the top of my head. My problem is that if your going to hike up prices for saturady and advertise that there will be fireworks and concerts, they might as well be decent bands. If you are going after nobody's then dont make a big deal about having concerts. I know they specifically said they wanted to turn saturday games into "events". If you are going to make a big deal about all the extra stuff your adding, it should live up to the hype imo. Even gulfstream park has better bands than the marlins signed up.
February 15, 200719 yr are saturday ticket prices going up for these stupid concerts? i don't want to see any washed up bands play, i want to see baseball. (Mrs. BB27 here) Good God. You know, you don't have to go. Or you can leave right after the game. Amazing...the FO is trying to do nice, fun things for us, and all you people do is STILL whine and complain. :banghead

February 16, 200719 yr Lawyers Appreciation Night has me excited, even though I completely expect it to be a Bill Veeck type promotion where lawyers (like me) will be charged double for admission. No offense intended but I fully epected to see the next night billed as "Sue Your Section Night." I really have no idea how they came up with that promotion. May 10th...Weather Day? I don't like the sound of that.... Does sound a bit ominous. But I figured it was because hurricane season is right around the corner from that night. I figured it will be a bit of an educational night. If you are going to make a big deal about all the extra stuff your adding, it should live up to the hype imo. Even gulfstream park has better bands than the marlins signed up. They didn't hike up the prices because of these events. The prices went up last year for "premium games", pretty much what most MLB team do. Plus they also offer those Friday/Saturday packages for next to nothing. Last time I checked the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers don't play baseball. Thanks for ther update, may have to check that out. And again. They are giving you something for nothing and you are complaining about it. Why am I not surprised? are saturday ticket prices going up for these stupid concerts? i don't want to see any washed up bands play, i want to see baseball. (Mrs. BB27 here) Good God. Actually I think she was grouping you in with the two that are complaining about the groups. However, I think it is pretty good idea. I do think it will bring more folks to the games. Maybe not just the concert thing, but the whole Saturday experience thing. The pre-game happenings at Gate H for example. Like you, we won't be staying every Saturday for the concerts. Some of them for sure. Probably even give some of our tickets away to friends that want to see certain "names" that we could care in the least about. I see it as at least the FO is making an attempt at connecting with the fans. That is a good thing.
