So Im going to Vegas for 11 nights tommorow

Featured Replies

Its early May, so that means TheDon is on his way to Las Vegas tommorow for the semi-annual trip.

I'll be staying @ The Wynn for those of you who are familiar with The Strip. Its one of the newer properties out there and I hear the rooms are killer (Flat screen in the living area and one in the bathroom too :cool .

I hear there is even a "European" style pool area where tops are "optional". Meow.

For the poker players on the site, I will be playing $1/$3 NL exclusively while at the Wynn (I have to play 6 hours a day to get the killer poker room rate). Interestingly enough, there is no-max buy in at the Wynn. I have a pretty good bankroll for my poker play so I won't have to sweat the action too much (scared $ doesnt make $).

I will be taking full advantage at the Sportsbook (NBA Playoffs, baseball in full swing) although I hear they don't give the greatest odds there. Maybe I'll hit the Mirage for my sportsbets.

I'm gonna go to NINE Steakhouse at the Palms while Im out there (the filet is unreal) and then go up to Ghost Bar (for those Real World diehards).

I won't be back till the 13th, but I'll give a little trip report when I do.

*dies*

I think I'm heading out there this year sometime, whenever all my pals get their acts on the same page.

Thats sick. Enjoy. I have only heard good things about the wynn. I hope that poker rate saved you some cheese.

Maybe if you whip ass in poker you can get some tickets for saturdays fight.

I can't imagine staying in Vegas for 11 nights

I was there for 3 before the NC, and I was bored out of my mind

Then again, I'm under 18 so that changes things a wee bit...

Bored out of your mind. :lol

Adorable. Don't worry, you'll get there Young Jedi.

Just warning you, Britney Spears will be performing this week at Vegas in the House of Blues. Beware of media frenzy. There already is one right now in San Diego where she is going to perform in a matter of minutes. So try to avoid the frenzy... unless you want to catch a glimpse of her.

SWEET!!!! Good luck man.. I hope you suck out all those rich bastards over there!

Lay the wood on the Fish bro...

Have fun!

I walked in the Wynn...it was too expensive to even sit in...i felt terrible in shorts and a t-shirt.

I'm also planning a friend trip to vegas in July....

Now that is a dream trip! I went when I was 16 and I'll probably go again next year when I turn the big 2-1. Have fun, TheDon!

p.s. Don't you have season tickets? What are you doing with them?

  • Author

So what exactly is the poker rate? How much discount are you actually getting?

$129 a night during the week and $199 on the weekends.

Over the course of the trip that is a big savings. I think the regular room rate is about $299.

Except for the 11 day part (which is unreal, I don't know what you do for a living but keep it up if it allows you to take 11 days off in a row) and the poker (I'm a fan but don't like playing at the casinos), I just had a trip last month that mirrors yours. I went to NINE and Ghostbar in the same night (try the "boned in filet" if they have it...a step up from the filet if you ask me), and I had a cabana at Bare at the Mirage (a topless VIP pool that was absolutely unreal...it was insane. VIPs galore like Leo DiCaprio in the next cabana and tons of girls sans-top...yes, some were "rentals" from the Rhino but who cares???).

Anyway, I hope you come back a winner with a nice recap story.

I don't think my body could handle 11 days of it....I went the first weekend of the tourney (which should be on every sports fan's list of things to do before death) and that was like 4 days and i was wrecked.

Well I made it back in one piece but the 11 nights definitely took its toll on my body.

My longest Vegas trip prior to this one was 9 nights and the 2 extra nites put a hurtin on me (not that a long trip to Vegas is something to complain about).

I played poker and bet on sports exclusively and was +$1,200 overall. I'll take it.

I'll do a more comprehensive trip report very soon but right now Im gonna go get some rest.

Maybe someone can explain to me how I hit the over on the Marlins game on Saturday.........I thought I was dead in the water when I saw the score was 1-1 in the 5th (rain delay). Next thing I know, I see the ticker on ESPN while playing poker and its 7-3 Nats?????!!!!!!!! I was like "WTF"?.

The total on the game was 9 so I hit and was happy about that but pissed that the Marlins lost (again).

welcome back.

saturday's game: there was a 2 and a half hour rain delay mid 5th inning, game start up again, top of the order produces, by the mid 9th inning the score is 3-2 fish. then it starts raining harder, the field gets wrecked to sh*t, but the umps decide to start the game back up again a half hour later when the rain settles a bit. tank loads the bases, gives up a hit. 3-3. julio comes in, grand slam. nats win 7-3.
