Right off the Panthers site, along with this image.

I also whipped up a concept, based on what I could tell by the teaser.

I'm not too sure if I like the design or not......

I just hope they don't go too far from what they have now. I think they're among the best in the NHL.

Yeah, definitely. My favorite unis in the NHL (not all time) but modern are:

The Panthers

The Flames (the horse head)

The Penguins

The Sabres (the vintage look updated)

The Blackhawks

My favorite one all time, though has to be the Hartford Whalers and Quebec Nordiques jerseys. Those things are awesome.

I definitely concur on this. I still have my Panther jersey from 1996 signed by a ton of those guys from that team. I was the 14 year old kid waiting outside the cars for autographs that year(and they would all sign and were all very nice).

One of my favorite sporting memories was that year, the year of the rat was just so much fun. We need playoff hockey to return to South Florida. Hockey live ranks only behind baseball IMO as a spectator sport.

I love hockey game, they are very fun to watch, if I wasn't so baseball obsessed, that would be my favorite sport to watch.

I think it's great if you attend a game, but watching on tv is pretty tough to watch if you ask me. :confused

Its a world better in HD.

Before, the only reason I watched on TV was because I'm an addict, but now its awesome.

Besides, Dave Strader is worth it to listen to.

in HD you can actually see the puck move and follow it...its amazing...I want to get a slingbox so I can watch every game while I'm in CT, even if its not HD (it beats radio)

how hard would it be to get the rat thing going again?

avoid injuries next year and this team is playoff calibar (spelling)

The rat thing is already there, after the game.

Can't do it during the game anymore (though, I've seen a few in the second Olli hat trick I saw and the Stephen Weiss hat trick...back to back games and I was there for it. :mischief )

I hope the Panthers don't deviate too much from the way it stands now. They have a very good look going that dates back to their original logo/colors and that is rare these days in hockey.

Many NHL teams will be changing their look due to Reebok taking over as major supplier of uniforms and equipment. Here are some of the changes that have been revealed so far while we're on the subject of uni unveiling:

OMG are the bruins really swtiching to that? GROSSSSSSSS.

The capitals jersey actually looks really nice. A million times better than what they currently have.

The Bruins jersey changed?

That looks like a Blue Jacket Jersey....notice the Ohio flag forming the "C"...right?

Cats are ditching the red sweaters altogether?

:thumbdown

I doubt it. Atleast I hope they don't. I prefer those over the blue sweaters by far.

They are according to Michael Yormark for this season. I believe the NHL is limiting the jerseys to home and away this year with the possibility of alternates returning in the future. I don't know why, but they are.

I'd like to be surprised, though.

Probably since a good number of teams are starting off the year with a clean slate as far as logos/uniforms go. Every team in the NHL had the choice to change their look for 2008 since Reebok started manufacturing gear for the league. That could be the reason why. Maybe they're going down the NBA route and not allowing alternates for teams that have had recent changes. Who knows? I just hope the red isn't kicked to the curb in favor of blue.

The real reason is that fans will have to shell out $ to get the new home and away unis. Then in 3 years, they can bring the 3rd jerseys and make more money.
