Randy Messenger

Featured Replies

well ill tell u wat...hes been doing really well in his stint with san fran and has a 2.23 era after working 2 innings today against the yankees. 36.1 innings pitched

And it's just as flukey as it was here. He'll have a typical Randy Messenger .2 IP 5 run outing soon and all will be right with the world.

I still make that trade 100 times out of 100.

And Jorge Julio has a 1.46 era with the Rox... Would you like to have him back here any time soon sir? If I never see Randy Messenger and his stupid hat way down in his stupid face again it will be too soon.

I'm glad he has improved in the new surroundings. Same with Julio.

Sometimes trades are beneficial. One man's garbage is another's treasure.

I just think that once he starts to be used too much, he is going to burn out. The best thing to do is probably use him sparingly.

Randy didn't have a place in this bullpen, that was pretty clear at the way the were using him. He has pitched well this year and I'm not so sure that he won't continue to pitch reasonably well (at least league average), but it wasn't a bad trade because Benitez has solidified the 8th inning pretty well for us.

I liked Randy, and I'm glad he's having success. II'm more than happy with the way that trade went.

By the way, you might want to take him out of your sig.

I'm fine with the trade, and since I think Benitez'll probably play for us at a deep discount next year, it's a trade that neither side regrets.

Plus, Messenger had a great first half with us last year and then was just abysmal in the second half, not surprising at all to see him start strong.
