RVH pitched well and should stay up.

Hanley is The Man.

Alfredo continues to hit and show why he should be moved up while Uggla continues to show why he should be moved down.

Hermida looks silly in the field again.

Why is Eric Reed still with the team? Couldn't we use some additional scrub out of the bullpen for long relief, to replace Wes?

ya but regardless of whether those balls go out, its not helping him field or find the ball

The corners for both teams were having trouble spotting fly balls pretty much all night.

So, your hate is unjustified.

Hermida always has trouble spotting fly balls. He sucks in the field. Everything I do is justified.

Any other ballpark and Hermida's circling the bases, I have no idea why you'd categorize him as silly. The ball in right was misplayed, but in no way do I think it was unequivocally catchable, however he didn't do a great job keeping it in front of him.

Vandy walked a tight-rope, at times he was simply brilliant but he needs to be more economical with his pitches, especially to the bottom half of the order.

Hanley's just unbelievable.

And big big credit to the Miller-Lindstom-Benitez combo just absolutely shutting the door, letting that insurance run give Gregg the night off.

Go get 'em tomorrow.

did such a good job keeping it in front of him the guy went to 2nd..

Hermida looks silly again

He crushed those balls to deep center, just the wrong stadium to do it in.

You left out "in the field" in Hanley2's post. He wasn't talking about Hermida's offense.

i hope this sign that team have turn the corner and are moving up ladder we got two home game won during past five home game let get wed game make it 3-2 at home during two past series

It just said "Hermida looks silly again" when I quoted it. He added "in the field" after I posted.

Looks like an overall solid and encouraging game. A good outing by Vanden Hurk, Hanley doing what he does best, and five different relievers pitching four innings of scoreless ball. :thumbup

I think we should move Amezaga to the 2nd hole.

Uggla is looking ugly out there.

That looks much better to me personally.

Last night hints that any given night pitching and offense can be as potent a winning combination as pitching and defense. In the longrun you can't win with shoddy D, but with even Uggla getting into the act, perhaps an upswing in offense will spark some better play generally.

And you really have to tip your hat to RVH whose improvement with each callup is the path you're looking for from every young pitcher. It wasn't too long ago we were hearing great things about this dutch kid pitching in the Hawaiian winter league with all kinds of caveats that he was much further away than his strikeout numbers indicated. He's certainly proved a number of professional pundits wrong.

I think we should move Amezaga to the 2nd hole.

I'm undecided about whether I would want Amezaga or Hermida in the 2-hole. If Amezaga were batting in front of Cabs, and got on base, a double almost certainly scores him. I think you want someone with pretty decent speed batting ahead of Miguel.

Hermida has just as much speed if not more, a better eye as well.

Hermida has just as much speed as Amezaga?

I think Jeremy may be faster than Fredo, I'm not sure, but I think Fredo is quicker and is a better baserunner.

My lineup:

Jeremy

Hanley

Miguel

Hammer

Jacobs

Uggla

Olivo

Fredo

I'm pretty sure Amezaga would kill Hermida in a foot race. Hermida would look real nice in the 2 hole. If only to give Dan a chance to get out of this funk. Slide him down a bit. He has been killing the momentum of this team in certain innings the past few days.

Lets put Willis in the 2 hole tonight :D

Yesterday, one of the announcers after the game asked Fredi if he would consider moving Uggla from the 2 spot and he said "probably not". He said he would give him a day off though.

Hermida has just as much speed as Amezaga?

Speed might be one thing, but despite all the ups and downs Hermida has gone through, he is a very smart base runner. I would say along the lines of a Mark Teahen if you watch a lot of other teams routinely. He isn't blazing fast, but very instinctual and will go 1st/3rd, score from 2nd, without any major threat (unless Vlad is in the OF or something), and will take bases and steal them whenever he sees an opportunity. He isn't a plodding corner OF. His SB/CS numbers, albeit very low, aren't a good indication of where he's at. I suspect he'll start rattling off 14/5 SB years routinely.

He should be one of the first four hitters in the order without a doubt. Only thing up for discussion, is where.
