I'd have shot myself, you are a stronger man then I am. and please be ok miggy
August 5, 200719 yr Was nice to go to the game for the first time in years. But man, water is a ripoff at $5. Great game for Olsen. Good solid hitting and no mishaps. This road trip is pretty major.
August 5, 200719 yr Was there today. Great seats, great game. Matt Treanor is one of the grittiest SOBs on earth. Even with his team up by 4 runs, the guy railroads the sh*t out of a catcher. Even though he was called out, you love seeing that. Awesome outing for Olsen. Good selection all day long. Changeup was moving all over the place. He got the standing O from me. It looked to me, and I haven't seen the TV broadcast, that the ball that hit Cabrera got him on his rock of Gebraltar sized elbow pad. He was on the bench later in the game (don't know if they showed that on tv either) so he should be fine. In the meantime, Amezaga made probably the play of the game in relief of Cabrera on the ball that went off of Gregg's leg so in a way, it was a blessing in disguise. Pretty even game most of the way through. Awesome finish and a good building block win.

Come on bro, you don't live that far away. You should go to more games. Nice to win a series. Scotty was dealing after the first inning, We played well so I'm happy about it all.
August 5, 200719 yr Nice to win a game and a series. Olsen made his first good start since his fight with the Aventura Police. Hanley continues his awesomeness. There were exactly 31 people in my section. It was like sitting in a convection oven. I believe there must have been a nuclear accident at Turkey Point. They really should just charge $1 for a bottle of cold water during these summer day games.
August 5, 200719 yr If we had classy ownership any day the temp is 90 or above the fans should get free water...oops I forgot crater-face controls the concession at DS

It's called thinking outside of the box...sorry Bob but you will still have to pay for the beer! So, if this ownership was classy, they would do something no other team in any professional sport does, and in turn lose money. What a bunch of a**holes for not doing this.
August 5, 200719 yr Great game. Scotty pitched well and the offense did its job. I hope Miggy is okay though.

Come on bro, you don't live that far away. You should go to more games. Nice to win a series. Scotty was dealing after the first inning, We played well so I'm happy about it all. I'm not making too much money during my break after graduating. Thank God for graduation checks. After today, I'm definitely going to more games until I get my career going. Hopefully it's in S. Florida. I don't want to go to Queens or the Bronx for baseball if I get a job in NYC. As few fans as there were today, they seemed into it so that was enjoyable.

August 6, 200719 yr Yeah, I thought yesterday's crowd was quite lively too. Regardless of the headcount it's always more enjoyable when the fans that are there are really into it. I hate zombie crowds.

August 6, 200719 yr Sun-sentinel Manager Fredi Gonzalez called on Ross in the fourth inning after Miguel Cabrera left the game with contusion above his left elbow. Matt Albers hit him with a pitch, but Cabrera should be back on Tuesday. Marlins Cabrera exits with elbow bruise Third-inning plunking places All-Star on the bench By Joe Frisaro / MLB.com MIAMI -- Marlins All-Star Miguel Cabrera was removed from Sunday's game after the third inning with a left elbow contusion suffered when the slugger was struck by a pitch. Cabrera, who is batting .338 and has 27 home runs and 80 RBIs, was plunked on the elbow by a Matt Albers fastball in the third inning. Cabrera wears elbow padding on his left arm, which helped absorb some of the impact. He doubled over in pain when struck, but remained in the game to run the bases in the third inning. In the top of the fourth inning, Cabrera was removed from the game. While Cabrera leaving the Marlins' 6-5 win over the Astros early was a nervous moment, the team is confident the bruise isn't serious. The Marlins are off on Monday before opening a road trip at Philadelphia. Manager Fredi Gonzalez expects Cabrera, who had a patch above his elbow while leaving the clubhouse Sunday, to be in the starting lineup on Tuesday. "It just got him above the pad, and it swelled up on him a little bit," Gonzalez said. "For me, it's not bad. We [will ice] him down today and tomorrow, and he should be ready to go." The 24-year-old entered Sunday with the second-highest batting average in the National League behind teammate Hanley Ramirez. After going 0-for-1 on Sunday, Cabrera is batting .338. Cabrera has been hit by pitches four times this season. He's been wearing padding on his lead arm when batting since the start of Spring Training. Last year, Cabrera was struck 10 times, and it wasn't until late in the year that he started wearing padding on his arm.

I just love seeing catchers in a collision like that. Totally opposite of that lame excuse Hammer had for a collision the other night. And wasn't it ironic that the first batter was their catcher?? It was great to see the standing O Scotty got. And deservedly so. Great job. I would like to see him work on his bunting a little more tho. But that's just getting picky. That Amazing play was awesome. What an athletic player. That elbow pad may seem big, but check out Bonds. I think Miggy's is a mid sized one. And if your seats were that good then you heard the CLUNK when that ball hit it. It looked like it hit near the top and got some of his arm. The radio on the way home said it hit solidly on the elbow. Then I read at the wb site that it did hit near the top of the pad. Good to hear we won't be losing his bat.

With the team out of it this year this is the type of crowds you will see from now on. Mainly just the hard core fans. And that will be tough when the Mets and Phillies come to town.

I usually sit in the outfield or Infield Box, but my fiancee felt like living the high life in the club section.
