The Tampa Tribune speculates that the Rays could be interested in Andre Ethier now that the Dodgers are thought to be shopping him following the signing of Andruw Jones.

 

The newspaper suggests that the Rays could offer up Al Reyes or Dan Wheeler in return for Ethier, but that seems unlikely to get a deal done.

Any chance that we could get him for Gregg and a porspect and either use him in a platoon with Willingham or maybe even convert him to a 3b. No sure if that is possible.

I guess it depends on who the prospect is but the Dodgers would be dumb to trade Ethier for Gregg if Gregg is the best player they receive.

The thought is that Hammer can't play 3rd anymore with his back problems.

I thought the plan besides gutting the payroll again was to improve defensively putting Wllingham at 3rd doesnt improve the team defensive this purposed move aside I fail to see how defensively we have improved , it is going to be the dame team with a new 3rd baseman

Because I like Ethier, wouldnt just want him playing part time, but I also dont want Willingham playing part time.

Willingham does have the back issues so thats a No on 3rd base. Do we shop Jacobs and move Willingham to 1B? Because platooning him shouldnt even be an option.

1) Its not just you, but HIS NAME ISNT f***ING EITHER.... Also, Im assuming the suggestion was that Willingham convert to 3B.

Ethier, Either, Ester, Uncle Fester, either way he'd be a good pickup and would get a decent set of at bats around the corners.
