February 1, 200818 yr Although I'm not thrilled with this, I don't see it as a real big deal. It's not Loria doing it, MLB wants this to happen. So it's probably going to happen. My guess on how season ticket holders will be handled is that the $$$ value of our tickets and parking passes will be credited to our accounts. I don't see what holiday week end that is. And the Mets playing here that time of year just means the stadium would be over run with their obnoxious fans, outnumbering us by a long shot. That dosen't bother me a bit. However, we would lose out on 3 give-aways, a Super Saturday, and a Family Day. We always have a great time at the Sunday games.

Whoa, I must have misread, or maybe the original report had the wrong dates. I thought I saw May 25-28 which would have been a strange Sun-Tues over Memorial day. The dates are July 28-30, which is Mon-Wed. I still don't like it, but I really thought it made no sense to take away a holiday series-SORRY. That's right, the Michael Myers of really bad ideas has once again come back to life. The Marlins may play a home series against the New York Mets in Puerto Rico after all. Discussions to move a three-game set (May 25-27) from Dolphin Stadium to San Juan's Hiram Bithorn Stadium have been resuscitated after flat-lining last month. The Marlins, who would not comment on the talks, would need to have a deal in place no later than a week from Saturday. That's when single-game tickets go on sale for the first time at FanFest. Let's see, what is probably the worse thing MLB and the club could do that will make a stadium deal harder to come by, since raising ticket prices? I know, take a home stand away from the Fish. But here is the weird part, according to the schedule, the Marlins don't play the Mets on May 25-27. The Marlins are scheduled to play the Mets the 26-28 in New York, not Florida. So who knows what is going on, if anything.
February 2, 200818 yr I see where the confusion came from. I still have no problem with it, if it even happens. It's not like we are the only team doing it. If it had been a series vs a team that only stops by once a year I would definetly be more upset with it.

The A's gave up some home games to play in Japan in March, so its not totally uncommon. On a side note, I would be upset if I were a Buffalo Bills fan. They Bills were given permission by the nfl to play one home game a year in toronto and several preseason games over the next 5 seasons.

The Bills draw from that area and their fan base has been dwindeling for quite some time now. They can't even sell out post season games. The Bills are doing that for their very existance, while MLB is doing this for the increased exposure of baseball in general like the NFL game between the Giants and Phins this past season in London.
