Gregg's Goggles

Featured Replies

Gregg somehow escaped from the ninth inning despite starting four straight hitters 3-0, oddly ditching his trademark goggles in the process

Anyone know why he didn't wear them today? It could definitely be a reason for the control issues. Even if he doesn't need them to see better, it may just be something he's accustomed to.

Maybe they could spring for an extra pair or two, just in case.

maybe he could. it's not like he isn't making enough money to pay for them. i'm surprised he doesn't have multiple pairs in his car and at home. even i buy prescription glasses three at a time.

I like how suddenly Gregg is the token "rich guy" on the Marlins....

since even rookies are making almost $400,000 a year this has nothing to do with picking on the "token rich guy" (unless you're just being smarmy) but eyeglasses are a personal item prescribed by the player's doctor and so I see nothing wrong with the thought he employ a little common sense and buy a few pair because life is full of surprises on and off the field.

but let's not belabor the point.

Saw himself on the scoreboard and realised how stupid he looks wearing them. He is going with Jason Phillips to get Lasik surgery on Thursday's offday.

He looks cool in those glasses. If anything, he looks a little weird without them.

Agreed.

I also agree!

Rich and Tommy said yesterday that he had gotten new glasses this season, and it was his first time playing with them. He couldn't see the catcher with these new ones so he decided he was better off without them

It sounds like Gregg needs the Mark Hendrickon LASIK treatment. If he does though, he should still wear those goggles but with no prescription.

He needs to go back to last year's pair.

Yeah, I believe he said he was going back to the previous pair.
