I think by Japanese you refer to a common stereotype that all Asian players are Japanese, which, they are not. Asian yes, Japanese, definately not.

Brings back memories of the Choi days and that in-the-park homerun he hit at dolphin stadium. I remember he hit 9 homers for us in April of 04 and then hit like 3 over the next two months...

Had Japanese ballplayers practice with the team.

I seem to recall Choi being sat against every leftie and most righties after the 3rd week or so. His solid rate of drawing walks was ignored by the old man.

Which really is too bad. I can understand not wanting to get any of the posted JP players, but there's good FA options out there.

 

you're not going to find too many good position player FAs, but there's been a lot of solid pitching guys who came over as cheap FAs.
