Phillies better lose tonight.

Kendrick vs. Smith

It really gets old when we continually rely on the phillies to keep losing to stay one game back.

Especially when they actually keep losing. Instead of gaining ground on them we're just staying put, the good teams take advantage. :banghead

I seldom have a problem with Fredi but this is entirely his fault. He should have brought in DW or someone else rather throwing Cruz out there when everyone in the world knew the Rays would be free-swinging. It's really unfair to the kid to do this to him.

There is no reason not to bring in Cruz, again managers are given to much credit when teams win and given too much of the blame when they fail. Cruz Failed on the field, in a blow out no less.

The only thing that can be said, it's that a loss is a loss no matter what. It counts no different than the way we lost, last night.

But...this is terrible baseball.

He failed in part BECAUSE it was a blowout and the Rays were going to bang away on whoever came in. We've all played in games like this on both sides and if you're on the winning team you take BP when you can take BP.

see...that's what I don't get it.

We're not a "good team" for not taking advantage.

Yet...why is it that the Phillies are a "good team?" Shouldn't they be taking advantage, as well?

You guys have to understand...there will be losing streaks. No, we're not one of the best teams in baseball. I wouldn't say we're a playoff team this year...BUT...we're 1 game back. Lets not give up. And if you're gonna give up, don't be excited and say "we are for real...surprise team of '08" when we win.

Tommy, I can tell you how Shields will pitch - to contact. Let the Marlins hit the ball and let the guys behind you take care of business. He's on cruise control now.

...but who is Fredi supposed to bring in?

Wouldn't you rather save guys like Waechter (who we'll probably have to use now, anyways), and Pinto when we're in tight games?

can i say what marlins team is but i will get ban

put this :anon on........you'll go undetected.... :whistle

Just because they were banging away on Tucker doesnt mean the next pitcher would get shelled. Cruz FAILED Tucker FAILED. Fredi brought a well rested pitcher in to maybe take more than one inning,

i will say this :banghead :beer :chair :drunks :guillotine :hanged :killthemall :no :owned :omg :panic :hairrollers :matrix :barf :barf :barf :debate :ohno :ohno :fit :fit :fit :bouncy :bouncy that make us our night

Wow, I thought we had a chance today. The game started well. Two quick innings two start the game from Tucker, Marlins reached on a couple errors from the rays. Sure they left a couple on, but I thought the Marlins would eventually get to Shields.

that's great...a shutout would be nice now.

Shields is on my fantasy team, and I'm on a losing streak, myself, lol.

The Rays can continue scoring now, for all I care. As long as they use all their runs up tonight, and forget to score tomorrow...:D
