July 27, 200818 yr Josh Willingham, for not making a play Brett Carroll would've easily made. Really though...it was a good series. A split at Wrigley...I'll take that. July 27, 200818 yr Listen, Fredi did not become dumb overnight. So don't go crazy or take this loss too hard. This is baseball, managers will make dumb decisions. Remember this is a game where a replacement pitcher pitched and we got split (our goal) against the best home team in baseball. And our D (Willingham) cost us again, poor managing aside. and BTW, Hendrix is the last person to blame. He did his best and what he is capable of. He was put in a position to fail in his final inning. Not his fault he sucks. His manager should know his abilities better.
July 27, 200818 yr Offense was bad despite scoring 6 runs. Live and die by the homerun... Starting pitching was bad, and while Mark deserves some blame, he shouldn't be the scapegoat. Nelson didn't do his job either.

July 27, 200818 yr You guys REALLY HATE Hendrickson. I mean, seriously, he allowed a HR in 3 innings. How does Hendrickson deserve more blame than Vanden Hurk? Or even Willingham (that ball was catchable)? Hendrickson allowed 1 ER in 3 innings of relief. The other runs scored on him...not his fault that Nelson struggled to throw strikes today...and even Nelson did his job b/c as I said...the ball Fontenot hit to LF is one a lot of LF'ers catch.

July 27, 200818 yr I wish it was possible to vote for Hurk AND Hendrickson but since I can't I went with Hurk. You team gives you a 5 run lead and you can't even hold it. Lame. I really hope we can win tomorrow but I'm not counting on it considering Ricky always struggles against the Mets.

Remember, we have compromised defense in many areas in order to field the best hitting team possible.

As far as Hendrickson he gave up ONE run in 3 innings, and left the game with 2 men on and 2 outs. It's not his fault that Nelson came in, and allowed his runs b/c Willingham took a terrible route to the ball in LF, with the bases loaded.
