Miller DFA, LoDuca Up

Featured Replies

The bullpen has been fine.

Gregg has been awesome since the All-Star Break...he just had a bad night, tonight.

Also...if Pinto gets sent down, the guy who would probably get a more important role, would be Hendrickson.

Lindstrom

Rhodes

Gregg

Hendrickson

Kensing

Nelson

Am I missing someone? Going from 8 man to 6 man bullpen seems like a pretty big shift, though I guess Fredi wasn't really using all six guys equally.

Well, if Pinto gets sent down, a reliever comes back up.

There's no way they go with only 6 relievers. Especially since Fredi likes to play "musical relievers" from time to time.

At the minimum, you need 7 relievers.

Yeah, but who is the seventh? Tucker?

Evidently I don't understand your question. It looks like you are asking who is currently in the pen and according to that list, the missing person would be Pinto. If Pinto were to be sent down instead of Justin, then the missing person on that list would be Justin. We didn't lose two guys out of the pen.

I have no problem with the move. Kensing has a better arm and was great the other night. Miller has stunk in August. As for Lo Duca, he fits a role better then McPherson. If Dallas is called up, he deserves to be playing regularly. I personally would call him up today and let him play 3rd and move Cantu to 1st. I think he's perfectly capable of out hitting Jacobs. At the very least, he'll get on base at a higher rate.

Miller DFA'd before Hendrickson?

Hendrickson has done a good job when used correctly in the relief role.

As much as I hated him starting, he's filled his role out of the bullpen perfectly. He's been great and he's flat outpitching Miller right now.

Jacobs is our only player hitting well the 2nd half so it may be a bad idea to bench him.

Justin will be back. No doubt. He has replaced Andino as the team yo-yo.

No, he won't. He's out of options. He's DFA'd. In other words, his tenure with this team is done.

That is why DFAing him instead of optioning Kensing is a head scartcher. Because now we lose Miller, end of story. We option Kensing, we can keep both.

Am I wrong that we can still sign him to minor league contract should no one sign him?

Unless he clears waivers and accepts the minor league assignment, right?

Yeah, that is correct.

Big ifs though :(

I'm not POSITIVE but I don't think he can sign with us for a certain amount of time.

I know it's the case with free agency (if a player files for free agency, he can't sign with the team he left until sometime in May). I'm not sure about this case, though.

Justin Miller has been really great.

Is it really a big deal if we lose Mr.Hanging Slider?

2.45 ERA, 1.227 WHIP since the break?

When you could demote someone else and DFA Hoover and send Pinto down?

I can't agree with that.

Exactly WTF is this team doing? It looks like their just scrambling right now for anything. Complete desperation if you ask me. I liked Tattoo....

i don't have confidance in j miller as well.....but it is trye that hoover should have been dfa hei s good for nothing. well if dookie starts today i hope he does great, i'll be there

Well, Baker has been playing A LOT. I wouldn't be surprised if Lo Duca plays.

True, but Treanor may play. I'd like to see Paul get the start but I doubt it with Fredi's comments and the fact he had started 7 straight games in AAA including yesterday's.

I never knew so many of you guys liked miller. I was never that impressed with him. I feel bad he got dfa but he'll find some where else to play.

They needed to create a spot on the 40 man roster, so sending down anyone wasn't an option. Unless they moved someone to the 60 day again. I'd imagine that he gets picked up by someone, and probably part of the thought process on this one was that it's one less arm they have to pay next year through arbitration.

Justin Miller was really good last year.

5-0 record

3.65 ERA

74 strike outs in 61.2 innings pitched

I would take that in a heart beat this year. Granted, he hasn't been the same guy. His command and location of pitches this year hasn't been as good.

Exactly he sucks and i rather have logan especially the way he pitched the other night just dominating in those 2 innings@

They could have DFA Hoover instead, who is pretty much useless to us as a 5th catching option. Plus, he would have snuck through waivers. Miller, on the other hand, is probably going to get picked off.
