August 28, 200817 yr Demons be gone! Oh sorry, wrong thread. our hitters need to get their act together, so does Scott Olsen, Kevin Gregg and the bullpen.
August 28, 200817 yr VAMOS A DARLE PALO A TO EL MUNDO!! DAAAAAAAAALEEE HELL YEAH GO FISH!! playoffs, HERE WE COME!!
August 28, 200817 yr Statistically speaking, The Marlins will have to lose only one game per week from here on out if they want to make the playoffs. Sorry, it's not happening. Call me a fake fan, tell me I don't believe in the ballclub. I don't care. The season is over. They had every chance in the world to take the division, and failed to do so. It was a fun season. The team surprised nearly everyone and showed a glimpse of what could be a dominant run in the future. I'm excited about the future of this team, but unfortunately there will be no baseball in october this year for the Marlins.
August 28, 200817 yr Hell Yeah!!!!! Puma i think we all know our chances are slim to none and slim has one foot out the door, but its baseball and anything is possible.

The earlier you embrace the fact that the Marlins are not making the playoffs, the less heartbreak you will have in October. Like I said, the Marlins had every chance in the world to win it, and essentially blew it. It ain't happening.
August 28, 200817 yr Last year Phillidelphia was 4 games back and came back to win the division. The Rockies came back from the dead last year to make the playoffs. I'm not at all sayin we are likely to make the playoffs, but all it takes is a rythem, for the offense, the bullpen, and the defense to keep there act together for JUST 1 month and we can be in the playoffs
August 28, 200817 yr think of it this way - IF, and i know its a huge IF we won tonight and swept the Mets over the weekend, we would only be 2 games behind them and philly have a 4 game set in Chicago so it is perfectly possible that they could get swept or win 1 game only we still have a tiny chance, but for anything to happen we have to get a streak going, something we have found impossible for almost a month

I'm not at all sayin we are likely to make the playoffs, but all it takes is a rythem, for the offense, the bullpen, and the defense to keep there act together for JUST 1 month and we can be in the playoffs Two things about the Phillies last year. 1) They only had one team to hop (the Mets). The 2008 Marlins have TWO teams to hop (Phillies AND Mets). When there are two teams this far ahead of you (who btw are BETTER than you) and it being this late in the season, your odds of winning are astronomically high. 2) The Phillies did not win the division. The Mets lost it. Three things about the Rockies last year 1) They went on an unprecedented run that only happens once in a millenium. Is it possible for the Marlins to go on a run like this? Absolutely. Is it likely? No. In fact, there is a very very very small chance it happens. 2) The Rockies last year were an all-around better team than the 2008 Marlins, especially in terms of fielding. 3) The Rockies had only one team to worry about ahead of them (Arizona). The Marlins have two ahead of them to worry about.
