September 22, 200817 yr Honestly, so much is made about this team being or not being clutch, do we really want to dump the guy who bats 302/425/552 with RISP over the whole season? The more & more I watch and learn...the more & more I figure that the word "clutch" is the most overrated term in the sport.
September 22, 200817 yr Wow Bartlett is a good defensive shortstop. You dont see them often(sarcasm).Bartlett has never been great with the bat.He only started a hot streak late last month, so your judgement based on that is stupid.Bartlett is not what the Marlins need. Bartlett stinks with the bat.The Fish could do wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better. You are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy off.

Oh yeah...that's right, I didn't. Post when you learn how to read & comprehend...hmmkay?

Ever heard of an analogy? :whistle That wouldn't be true, Bartlett lover. :whistle Clearly, you don't know what an analogy is. Definition - An inference that if two unrelated things are alike in some ways they are probably alike in others. I was comparing them, defensively. The difference is, Aybar is younger...with some more potential. You might not like the idea (I know you LOVE Uggla...hope you don't leave the fanbase after he leaves)...but my point is...there are many options. This team's future will be fine as long as Hanley Ramirez is on it...as well as the starting pitching. As long as the Marlins have that (along with the likes of Maybin, Morrison, and Stanton...in what is REALLY the future of this team)...they will be fine. This team will compete with the Mets and Phillies next year, with or without Dan Uggla. With or without Mike Jacobs. With or without Cody Ross. You can mark my words on that. As a matter of fact, save the thread, if you'd like.
September 22, 200817 yr Now your trying to lecture me on a different subject, by pointing out obvious things.Well i do think we will be competitive next season. We should also get back great prospects/players from the trades that we do make this offseason. I was simply pointing out that Jason Bartlett sucks
September 22, 200817 yr And besides, Hanley has improved ten-fold by all defensive metrics/equations this season. He should not be moving to the outfield, especially for someone in the category of Aybar

And Raynor wont put up the power numbers ross did which is why we need to keep uggla. He can be our one big swing and miss guy. Dallas im not so sure about if cantu stays where does he play, sanchez at first cantu at 3rd. Cantu has played great and i really think we will keep him. Im willing to trade dallas, he can bring a decent porspect in i bet. Hanley at ss, uggla 2nd, sanchez at 1st, cantu 3rd, baker C, Left Raynor or josh either one should get on base, maybin CF and hermi in right which i dont like, rather have ross.
September 22, 200817 yr Lineup: CF - Maybin C - Baker SS - Hanley 3B - McPherson 1B - Cantu 2B - Uggla RF - Hermida LF - Ross Bench: Andino De Aza/Raynor Sanchez Treanor (or cheap veteran pickup) Amezaga Rotation: 1. JJ 2. Nolasko 3. Volstad 4. Miller 5. Anibal Bullpen: Vanden Hurk Pinto Tankersley Waechter Owens Nelson/Gardner Lindstrom (CL) this looks likely...although i think the marlins might sign pudge..and add some veteran bullpen arms in exchange for hammer, olsen and/or jacobs
September 23, 200817 yr It is useless to start to guess what our team will look like next year. It will depend on who we get for the trades that are bound to happen. Who won't be here next year? Jacobs? Hermida? Willingham? Uggla? Treanor? LoDuca? Helms? Gonzalez? Hendrickson? Rhodes? Gregg? Gardner? Olsen? ...all of the above? There are too many variables, too many possibilities to even begin to think what will happen. Not even Beinfest has a clue at this time. It will depend on the offers he gets for the players he is willing to trade. Its sort of fun to speculate a bit, but I'm not looking forward to the millions of threads like this one we'll see over the winter.

September 23, 200817 yr Im sold for Maybin starting CF and Baker catching Next Season Gaby is so so offensivley in his few AB's but i like his defense. Also i hope we keep Fredo next season he's just a great player to have on a team.

I would really like to see him start at least 1 Game before the season ends. i agree about Alfredo though, i would really like to see him back.
September 24, 200817 yr I was simply pointing out that Jason Bartlett sucks ...at slugging. Not particularly good at getting on base either.
September 24, 200817 yr I was simply pointing out that Jason Bartlett sucks ...at slugging. Not particularly good at getting on base either. And yet, his career .OBP would = T-5th best in the lineup this year. I guess you can say we have to improve in that area, as well. Really, I was just bringing out all possible scenarios. ANOTHER scenario (with a guy like Aybar) that no one would bring up. I honestly don't see Hanley staying at SS, for too much longer (as I said maybe a couple more years). It's going to be an interesting offseason. I BELIEVE. :cool

And yet, are you saying you want a player who would 5th best out of 8 starters on a team that sucks at getting on-base? Hell, his OBP is actually slightly worse than the team OBP.
September 24, 200817 yr Face facts guys. Whoever is up for arbitration is gone!!! We are going back to 65 wins again. The dismantling will continue. In a few years we will have a beautiful, brand new, empty retractable roof stadium with a losing franchise playing in it that is hellbent on being a AAAA minor league team for everybody else in baseball. After 15 years, I've given up on hoping. No owner we have will ever care about winning. All this dismantling crap has finally got to me. I'm now a permanent pessimist!
