November 3, 200322 yr my vote goes to Podsednick (SP?), but it will probably go to Willis due to the hype
November 3, 200322 yr D-Train no doubt about it!! podsednick wasnt even on a contending team at least webb was on a contending team Willis=ROY
November 3, 200322 yr Willis because of the hype...but thats just a SMALL SMALL part of it maybe his numbers arent up to par with Webb, but the man has breathed life into baseball in south florida and without him nobody on this team would have said they had won the 2003 world series, let alone go to this years playoffs
November 3, 200322 yr Author but it's not like the MVP where it measures how valuable you are to your team. This award is for the best rookie, regardless of how his team does. If it was most valuable rookie, it would go to willis, but since it's ROTY, it goes to Podsednick
November 3, 200322 yr Like I've said: Willis, not because he deserves it, but because of what he started.
November 3, 200322 yr Willis. Despite his late-season slide, he still finished 14-6 with a 3.56 ERA or so. Those are great rookie numbers. Webb's ERA was lower, but his record worse. SP was good, but won't get any votes for being with the Brewers.
November 3, 200322 yr Future GM, his ERA was in the 3.30s I believe. Lets play who has a ring! Scott? Nope, sorry. Brandon? Nope, no engagement rings allowed. Dontrelle? Yes! You have a World Series Ring! Rookie of the Year goes to Thug Life because he helped lead this team to the playoffs. Plus, he threw a one hitter. And please, if you are going to do this on a Marlins board, spell his name right.
November 3, 200322 yr Author And please, if you are going to do this on a Marlins board, spell his name right. sorry, i tend to type so fast i leave out the last letter in some words
November 3, 200322 yr What about Cabs??? Anyway my vote goes to Willis because he provided the energy and enthusiasm that this team needed after going to Baseball's cellar
November 4, 200322 yr I want Cabs to win it... He does have the number of at-bats to qualify, just not enough playing time to get full consideration... :banghead
November 4, 200322 yr Cabs should get strong consideration. I think Webb deserves it with Cabs and Posednick second and third (you pick the order)
November 6, 200322 yr Scott Podsednik (THAT'S how you spell his last name, gang) had an incredible year, but not incredible enough to beat out Brandon Webb or Dontrelle Willis. It will come down to one of those two...which one? It's very hard to say.
November 7, 200322 yr THis is a Florida Marlins site, so this is very biased. I will be the 19th person to root for Willis.
