The Dolphins...

Featured Replies

From 1-15...to, now, it seems like 10-5.

Win or lose against the Jets...they've had a surprising year.

Not only have they made me look like a fool...but they've made just about everyone look like a fool.

How they do it? Who knows? It's never pretty...but hey, wins are wins.

Imagine if Sparano actually gave Ronnie Brown the ball more than a handful of x per game!

Dolphins = Rays?

:mis2

With a different result in the championship game...hopefully...

How they do it?

Bill Parcells.

this basically sums it up.

Imagine if Sparano actually gave Ronnie Brown the ball more than a handful of x per game!

lol, are you seriously questioning a coach who has led a 1-15 team to at least 10 wins?

Ronnie Brown didn't do well when he ran, so we passed more. Sparano put together a very good gameplan, I have nothing to hate on a great coach for.

Fredi Gonzalez led a team that was supposed to lose 100 to a winning season...he still gets criticized.

Getting criticized is part of the job; doesn't mean he's a bad coach. As a matter of fact, Sparano probably deserves to be the coach of the year.

Fact is, you're wrong.

"Ronnie Brown didn't do well when he ran, so we passed more."

Really? He averaged 4 yards per carry. You're right...terrible idea to give your best player the ball more than 8 times (especially since KC's run defense is so good  ).

Dude, the beginning of the game, their first few rushes, they were in NEGATIVE yardage. We have many weapons at the RB position, and Pennington was very efficient in that game, i don't see why Ronnie deserved the ball.

and we had 38 points, I don't see how the gameplan was flawed

I'm not saying it was flawed. I'm saying Ronnie Brown has gotten 20 carries ONCE all year. Last 3 weeks (when they did have trouble scoring) he averaged less than 14 carries per game, despite running the ball for 4.5 yards per carry.

That might work against the horrendus KC defense...but in cold weather against the tougher Jets next week, they're going to need some balance, sooner or later.

As for Pennington, it's a damn shame Favre made the Pro Bowl over him...and Phillip Rivers.

Deserve? You are aware that the game becomes easily predictable if you throw the ball every time? Running it only like 10 times in the first half was not enough at all. Its why Pennington threw a pick. Because he was throwing throwing throwing, and they were getting used to it. The minute they started mixing it up, running with Brown/Williams, they then started taking control of the game.

Philip Rivers was sharp this season. Pennington was too. Rivers deserves it. I dunno about Favre though lol... they clearly picked him out of offensive production versus how Pennington was so efficient.

Brown needs more carries... by a little bit. Around 20-25 per game. Im not asking for the Dolphins to change their game plan, just to run it more specifically with Brown rather than Polite, Cobbs, etc. He is a pro-bowler for a reason...

And btw, I think its quite obvious that Pennington plays to win, period. So many weeks we only put up 15-20 points because that is all we need... rather than putting up 38 like this week. Im not saying we can pull 38 out of our asses any time we want, Im just saying that the Dolphins set the bar for whatever they need. Other than that, they try to kill the clock over a large stretch of time by controlling it.

How they do it?

Bill Parcells.

and Tony Sporano.

And Jeff Ireland. I wish Boog was still on. He would ridicule every pro Parcells callers. I wonder if he now thinks coaching is important. I doubt it.

It's really been a feel good story no matter what the score. I picked a 9 win season, but I picked a 9 win season last season as well.

I will be going to the Sports Bar this Sunday, and its going to be amazing between all the JEST fans and our fans.

And if we make the playoffs, I have plenty of tickets Im going to post.

if they play the patriots I will be excited for that.

And now the Dolphins have there fate in there own hands.

A win at NY Means playoffs but a loss means that the pats have to lose making it a 3 way tie

If it ends up being a 3 way tie...the Dolphins are automatically eliminated.

The Jets hold the tiebreaker in the division...and even if the Ravens lose (which would make both the Ravens & Dolphins 10-6 teams)...the Ravens would hold that tiebreaker for the 6th & final seed...since they beat the Dolphins earlier this year.

The reason the Dolphins are having a good year is because a lot of traditionally strong teams are having bad years.

like the patriots? steelers? colts?

:whistle

No. That's a terrible excuse. The reason the Dolphins are having a good year is because they are a good team.

Huh? The Patriots might not make the playoffs with 11 wins, this year.

How has it been a bad year for the "traditionally strong teams?"

The reason the Dolphins are having a good year is because a lot of traditionally strong teams are having bad years.

The real reason is because they beat up on crappy teams the whole season. The only teams with winning records that the Dolphins beat were the Patriots a week after they lost Tom Brady, and an overrated Broncos team.
