MLB Network

Featured Replies

Here's a little early Christmas gift for us baseball fans. The MLB Network is up! There is no live programming yet (until the official date of January 1st), but they have some good programming on already. For those of you with Comcast, it is on Channel 279.

If someone has DirecTV, please post the channel here for those who would like to see it before January 1st.

Will it ever be on basic cable, the one with like 80 channels, cause I taught that was the point of it being partially owned by Comcast.

If not well that blows, especially with having to miss a good chunk of WBC games.

Will it have live games during the season like NFL network?

One live regular-season game will be seen on the network on either Thursday or Saturday night. But it will be a simulcasted version of a game produced in one of the teams? local markets, and the MLB Network feed will be seen only outside that area.

There will also be archival, hot stove, reality, youth and spring training programming, as well as World Baseball Classic, minor league and Caribbean World Series games.

i hope mlb network gives espn a run for it's money in 2-3 years, espn's coverage sucks.

ESPN is always gonne be there though. I mean we have NBATV, MLB network, NFL network, Golf tv, and versus which pretty much is all hockey and espn is still doing fine.

I hate the fact that a lot of the programming is the same and used constantly.

Well, it is the offseason. I expect it to get better when we start playing ball.

Well, I would figure they would have more documentaries than the same Red Sox and 2001 season shows. Plus how long has baseball games been televised? Just play some old games.
