What would you like to see in the new stadium?

Featured Replies

One thing i would like to note about the "empty seats" problem.

There will be less empty seats in the new stadium because there will be less of them.

Landshark Stadium is a football stadium that sits 76,500 fans which is 20,000 more than new Yankee stadium and 30,000 more than Citi Field.

We should have good crowds with the 37,000 seating capacity at the new stadium so all the sports writers and announcers can shut the f*** up about not having fans.

That sucks, though. I wish we could have 45,000 seats and draw 45,000 fans. Watching the Phillies games and seeing all those loyal fans fill up CBP Stadium every day makes me feel kinda jealous. Is there anyway to add more seats to the stadium in the future?

Somewhere near the out-of-town scoreboard they should put the standings for all six divisions, or at the very least, the NL East

Yeah, something like that would be cool.

Also, not sure if you've ever noticed, but the flags that fly at the top of the Landshark Stadium (see below) are always in order of the standings.

(That was at the beginning of the season)

Yeah, Wrigley does that as well.

What I would like to see is it being designed the way CBP is. Not the dimensions or anything, but the fact that you can go anywhere in the park, and still be able to watch the game.

Coors Foeld is about the same way. But looking at the drawings, it dosen't seem that is the case here.

Yea, I noticed that. Sucks, that would have been a cool feature.

I agree. I like the feel that brings to a ball park. But there are other features they are talking about that also seem pretty cool. Can't have everything, I guess.

I don't consider San Diego to have perfect weather. But since you do, why don't you move there and take your aggressive know-it-all attitude along.

LOL I'm being aggressive?? LOL

I'm not the one complaining about it here. I know it's going to be hot during the day here in the summer. I deal with it and don't complain about it. I switch my seats for day games so we can actually go to the games and enjoy them. Evidently you didn't like the actual facts I put up and prefer to make up your own facts or twist what others say to justify your own thoughts. I got my facts straight out of the Marlins 2009 Media Guide. Where are you getting yours?

why the retrack roof, why not just a dome, why the hell would they ever want to open the roof in south florida??

Permanent domes are ugly as f**k. Baseball is an out door sport. At least on a nice and cool day the option is there to open the roof. But I am very happy the Marlins went with the retractable roof option and not some ugly as sh*t dome stadium.

Modern domed stadiums aren't really ugly but they can't have real grass. Or maybe it's the cost efficency because of our year round weather that it is cheaper to do it this way rather than using special lighting and then watering (I'm pretty sure it can be done, they bust grow houses all the time) in keeping real grass. Unless you go with the type of field that the Az Cards use. Real grass field on a conveyor system that allows the field to be moved outside when not in use and then moved back inside for games, and then using the outside area for parking. Interesting concept, actually. It allows them to utilize that stadium for so many other things without having to rip up the field and then resod it especially during the season.

I don't see how anyone can really complain about our nights here. Quite comfortable temps with usually a nice breeze. I'm an outdoors type person but my wife isn't and she very rarely complains about night games.

I hope that there is plenty of leg-room between the seat I will be sitting in, and the one in front of me. The current seats seem to get closer together as they get closer to the field.

How about no more Mermaids and Manatees? Real baseball teams don't resort to such unconventional and nontraditional marketing tactics.

People love the Manatees.

Maybe if we have them race during the middle of the 6th, that's conventional enough...

I guess...

Maybe it could become a new tradition. The Mermaids have got to go though. Cheerleaders don't belong in baseball

I want it to look like AT&T Park. It's small and cozy. Only a few rows of seats in the outfield.

Kinda hard to tell from the drawings I have seen what the OF seating is going to look like. But as long as my name is on seats 1 and 2 in some row 1, I don't care how many rows are out there.

Honestly, I dont mind looking at the mermaids. Marlins are a new team compared to the Red Sox or Cubs. New times mean new ideas..

Yea, losing the Mermaids and Manatees seems like a bad idea to me. The Mermaids have gotten hotter every year and the Manatees are hilarious and everyone loves them

This, being different isn't always a bad thing.

And I love the things we do at the stadium like Reason why to own Opposing teams jerseys and against the Nats we have our own Presidential Race with Billy always winning.

The only thing I ask is for Keyboard Cat to always be cued up and ready to play for when the opposing team has to take their pitcher out early and for wins.
