May 8, 200917 yr 37,000 marlins fans :banghead :banghead :notworthy :notworthy :thumbdown :confused :thumbup :shifty :whistle :whistle :whistle
May 9, 200917 yr Bacardi Park would be cool... though I just cant see the field landing an alcohol name haha. Mississouke Seminole Field. Yes. The Fish Bowl will easily be the nickname though. But what about miller park, that was allowed. Anyway, I would like to see lots of palmtrees in the stadium with a tiki hut selling tropical smoothies.
May 9, 200917 yr A brewing company and a spirits company are usually not lumped together when making rules about sponsorships. A lot of the time a brewery will be ok but spirits are not.
May 10, 200917 yr i'd like to see a big, fat replica of a big, fat marlins fan who routinely vomits on a big, fat statue of wayne huizenga everytime we hit a home run. in center field of course.
May 29, 200917 yr Foodwise - 'cause I am sick of... Robbie-Pro-Dol-Shark stadium's faire: El Rey De Las Fritas McDonalds (I got to have a McHotdog over in Toronto some years back as well as a McPizza - both were great!) La Carreta Latin Cafe Versailles (knowing Versailles, they'll have a zillion stands like they do at MIA ) Hooters Chilis Carvel Ben and Jerrys PF Changs Conine's Clubhouse Grill - The Mahogany Grille (Niner's and Hawk's restaurants) And then you can do normal park food - hotdogs, burgers, peanuts... etc. I know Florida has the whole Tobacco free thing, but, being as it is Miami, wouldn't it be cool to have a Cigar shop? With a few flat screens so you can still see the game.
May 29, 200917 yr Somewhere near the out-of-town scoreboard they should put the standings for all six divisions, or at the very least, the NL East
May 29, 200917 yr Somewhere near the out-of-town scoreboard they should put the standings for all six divisions, or at the very least, the NL East Yeah, something like that would be cool. Also, not sure if you've ever noticed, but the flags that fly at the top of the Landshark Stadium (see below) are always in order of the standings. (That was at the beginning of the season)

May 30, 200917 yr cheaper food and beer. I would drink at the games if they werent $7 I agree. Cheaper beer, or better beer for the same prices. I don't mind paying $6 or $7 if it's a quality brew, but if you are sticking with bud, coors, miller and that crap then it needs to be $3 or so.

Just another reason to love baseball.
June 10, 200917 yr Part of the project as I understand it are residences as part of one or all the parking facilities (ala West Ave and other locations on Miami Beach by the Fontainbleau for example) along with retail. Depending on how that plays out and what happens with the food and entertainment concourse and development around the stadium property it might be a fabulous place to live...at the park, ten minutes from downtown and Brickell, five minutes or less from the burgeoning Jackson Medical area and of course (anglo or no) a revitalized Little Havana.
June 18, 200917 yr The only thing I ask is for Keyboard Cat to always be cued up and ready to play for when the opposing team has to take their pitcher out early and for wins. I would ask for a whole new ballpark design as well(because the eyesore that has been shown to the public is quite hideous) but that is probably too much to ask.
July 1, 200916 yr Something I noticed about Tropicana Field last Sunday was that they have little metal plagues riveted to seats with the season ticket holders name on them. I think that's a nice touch. But I would.
July 2, 200916 yr What I would like to see is it being designed the way CBP is. Not the dimensions or anything, but the fact that you can go anywhere in the park, and still be able to watch the game.
July 2, 200916 yr I would just like to see crowds, I was listening to the nats commentaors yesterday, and they were making fun of how there were 150 adults in the stadium :mad . Just More crowds and less orange seats please.... do we still know why no one goes to these games????? Have then done research or something?
July 2, 200916 yr After extensive research it was decided that it's hot as hell and it rains hard every 30 minutes. Research shows that most people do not want to spend money to sit in the heat and the rain (p < .05). Yes....., but what about st louis, I remember watching games on tv there with a full house at 92 deg
July 2, 200916 yr There it's hot and here it's very hot and wet. Other cities it cools off at night here it does not. But granted other cities have better fan bases do to many reasons, particularly longevity. The stadium should help and consistent management/ownership will as well. I get what your saying, I lived on the west coast of florida for many years, one time at 11 pm at night I went outside at it was hot at night! the temp was 87 at 11pm, lol. A/c on all night... yes the new stadium should help, as well as the retrack roof, however, why the retrack roof, why not just a dome, why the hell would they ever want to open the roof in south florida??
July 4, 200916 yr A retractable roof means we can have real grass. A retractable roof means we get that skyline shot for night games. A retractable roof means....Oh never mind. Some people think that it should be 72 degrees at all times. Walk from their a/c house, through their a/c garage, into their a/c car, to their a/c job. I don't know what you people expect from living in South Florida, but 65 degree nights shouldn't be one of them. It's really not bad at night here. Pretty comfortable for watching a game, actually. However, this year has been extremely wet. I would bet we are on a record pace for rain delays. But normally by night game times the afternoon thunderstorms have cleared up and we have perfect viewing weather. The most rain delays we ever had was in '99 with 16 for 19 hours, 8 minutes. Our average is a little under 10 delays a year, and close to single digit hours. We have had a total of 24 games postponed in our history here. 6 of those for hurricane warnings and actual hurricanes, which won't change because of a roof of any kind. And 3 because of 9/11. That's 15 for rain. Total in our history. I would bet that puts us at least middle of the pack or lower for open air stadiums. Have no idea where to find that info tho. Want "perfect" weather? Move to San Diego.

July 4, 200916 yr why the retrack roof, why not just a dome, why the hell would they ever want to open the roof in south florida?? Permanent domes are ugly as f**k. Baseball is an out door sport. At least on a nice and cool day the option is there to open the roof. But I am very happy the Marlins went with the retractable roof option and not some ugly as sh*t dome stadium.
