April 9, 200917 yr I know I'm beating a dead horse here with this thread which is why I am requesting to have this thread pinned. Moderator, please feel free to move this thread to another forum if you deem it necessary. I wanted to make this thread so that all discussions/ideas concerning the Marlins uniforms can be found in one place. That way we won't have posters starting 'New Marlins Uniforms' threads every hour. I also have a couple of ideas of my own which I will now upload. What I did here was download the current uniform templates off of Chris Creamer's logo site, and made basic color adjustments using Paint. Keep in mind that what I did was very basic, seeing as I am at work with no graphic programs. I know we're changing up the logo a bit, but what I wanted to illustrate is how a new color scheme would look on the current uniform style. I made a custom teal/blue with the following settings: Hue 129, Saturation 240, Lum 47, Red 0, Green 78, Blue 100. Using that color I tried to replace all BLACK with this new MARLIN BLUE. I then took a simple orange color and replaced all current teal with it. These are the results: Home Road Alternate Let me know what you guys think! ETA: Also, keep in mind that I made these at 24-bit BMP files and the quality faded a bit when I uploaded them to photobucket as jpg files. So please excuse the poor quality!!
April 9, 200917 yr I have said it once and ill say it again, I am really against using orange as part of the teams colors.
April 9, 200917 yr Author I have said it once and ill say it again, I am really against using orange as part of the teams colors. Yeah, a lot of folks are. The reason I put it in my design is because I think it's almost a guarantee that the new uniforms will have orange to some extent. So without making it a primary color, I used it only as trim. Lets face it, the current teal is nothing more than trim anyway.
April 9, 200917 yr When you edit stuff in Paint (.BMP), there is less loss of quality when you save it as a .PNG instead of a .JPG and most everything will except .PNG files these days.

Lets face it, the current teal is nothing more than trim anyway. Please no orange. Teams with orange - Mets, Dolphins, and Hurricanes (college). The marlins need to distinguish themselves from these competing teams not try to emulate them. Try at least yellow/gold if you need an accent color or a light pruple like the colorado rockies. Yellow and green/teal looks better than orange and green (and it is more unique). Absolutely, No Orange! Just because you are playing at the orange bowl doesn't mean the colors of the uniforms have to be orange.
April 9, 200917 yr Author You know your road jersey says Florida right? Won't it be Miami instead? Yeah I'm aware. I don't have the capabilities here at work to do something like that. Like I said earlier I just wanted to test these two new colors on the current uniform set.
April 9, 200917 yr Author Gotta think that they're going to have a black alternate jersey... It's possible. No one really has a clue what the new threads will look like, but I do think it is a given that 'orange' will be included just from the direction that Loria has taken the last few years. But hey it might be something totally different. I'm going to keep playing around with this uniform set and try different color combos. Any other suggestions? Blue/Light teal Green/Yellow Anything else I should try?
April 9, 200917 yr Author From the outcry that orange has received, I just whipped this one up really fast. It was easy because all I changed was the black to the MARLIN BLUE I made up. Since there weren't many modifications it came out a lot cleaner. I wanted to see how the original teal paired with the new blue. I think it looks nice and sleek and 'watery', but it does seem to resemble the Mariners or Rays... which make sense since they are both coastal teams. Home Road Alternate
April 9, 200917 yr Author Dark Blue, Orange, Silver Without further adu, I give you... the Miami Mets! Home Road Alt Sure it may look good, but its a blatant ripoff the Mets. :thumbdown
April 9, 200917 yr The blue needs to be darker. That's the only way a blue-orange would look different than the Mets.
April 9, 200917 yr Author The blue needs to be darker. That's the only way a blue-orange would look different than the Mets. I'll give it a go... should I keep the silver 'MARLINS' on the alternate? Or try white or orange?

I think it would look great on this uniform: Unfortunately that is the only picture I have ever seen of that particular uni. I would love to see other views of it and the road version. It would be weird seeing us ditch the pinstripes, but I think it would look great.
April 9, 200917 yr Author there's one problem with those uniforms up there...they still say florida. Didn't bother actually reading my post I see...
April 9, 200917 yr there's one problem with those uniforms up there...they still say florida. Didn't bother actually reading my post I see... usually don't :confused
April 9, 200917 yr The home uniforms look extremely nice. Very well done. I agree that the alternates look very nice in the generally all black color. The away uniforms just don't do it for me. Can't put my finger on what i really don't like. Not a big fan of grey. Here's what i found online by another person trying to figure out the new uni's
