My point was clear. Our bullpen is mediocre, and we have 2 aces.

 

The only thing that referenced this year only was the sentence about the bullpen. That would be the first sentence.

 

The second little paragraph simply states that we've had 2 guys step up and pitch like aces. Clearly, any person with logic, would infer that that's not just this year, as we're only a week into the year.

Facts are...

 

Hermida has flat out sucked every year except for half a season with the marlins.

 

Lindstrom can throw 100 MPH and has an above average secondary pitch. With that kind of stuff, and with a pitcher being able to keep his stuff up until the age of 35+, why can't we be enthusiastic and hope he gets his control together?

 

And we are mostly optimists on this board other than you. We love speed, we lacked that all last year, and to see a guy with the speed Boni has is amazing, we have a right to be excited about him.

Lindstrom throws 100 mph (extremely flat), and his "great secondary pitch" is extremely inconsistent. Hence the reason why he's never been anything more than average.

I agree with Erick here. He said our bullpen has its issues, which it does. Small sample size yes, but there are no names in our bullpen that will scare the opposing team

 

Also, He clearly stated that we have two aces. One is JJ, everyone calls him an ace from what I've read, and the other is Ricky Nolasco, who has to be considered an ace because of his awesome 2008 season. How the hell can you guys miss that?

Now, how on earth does Matt Lindstrom NOT have the potential to dominate? Todd Jones had a dominating season as our closer, with very average suff, at age 37. Joe Borowski had a fantastic year as our closer, with very average stuff, at age 35.

 

Matt Lindstrom has 10x the stuff of these much older former closers of the Florida Marlins. Now, you give me a logical explanation as to why Matt Lindstrom does not have the potential to be one of the better closers in the game today?
