April 18, 200917 yr I was at the game with 3 of my cuban friends. Needless to say, we were loud and repping the Fish. We were second tier, in right field, right behind cody. We gave cody a shout out in the 1st inning, and he nodded. Then when he came to the field after he tied it up with his bomb, we were going nuts and he chuckled and waved his glove to us. I had a great game. What a fun game to be at. So glad Cody has had some luck with the stick. I love Cody, he'll always answer his fans. I remember giving him a chant before a game when we were in the rays tank and him giving us the point and nod. That's pretty cool. Always makes you like your team just that much more when the guys are nice and friendly. hell yeah, it was a fun night. I love our team. We also went nuts for Maybin's nice catch. You can't really beat watching a Marlins win, drinking a few beers and housing a DC classic chili cheese half smoke
April 18, 200917 yr What a fun run this has been. And by the time I wake up tomorrow, it'll be almost time for the next game. I love it. And JJ is pitching. :cool
April 18, 200917 yr 80% chance i'll be at the game tomorrow Nice. Get some pics! hmmmm, i haven't used my camera in forever....but I'll be going solo tomorrow, so I want to get a seat right behind the marlins dugout. only runs about 70 bucks at the nats stadium (which is beautiful, if you ask me). I'll try to take some decent pics but I don't have a fancy camera.
April 18, 200917 yr 80% chance i'll be at the game tomorrow I will be at Sunday's game, tomorrow I skip. 2/3 the week before exams will have to do. But see also, gotta catch the Caps/Rangers and Inter/Juve on tele. I will be channel surfing manana but there on Sunday. Probably with a book but i'll look for the Cubans :lol Also will be charging my camera and snapping some on Sunday. Really crappy digital camera but ill see what I can do.
April 18, 200917 yr I'm coming home for 2 weeks on Monday and I'll be going to the Saturday game against the Phils. I kind of want to make a sign saying something to the effect of "I traveled 6500 miles just to see the Fish play" (or Cody play since we'll be in the Fish tank), but do you all think that will be corny? I just want to be recognized and have Cody throw me a ball :lol
April 18, 200917 yr the nats stadium (which is beautiful, if you ask me). Beautiful AND sustainable. Made of recycled material. It can feel cold and sterile sometimes, IMO. It is good viewing and all, though. I'm generally impressed and have always enjoyed myself. It also allows for exit and re-entry for smokers (even ones who support Tobacco Free Florida, like Maybin and Cody), along with other first rate liberties, amenities and concessions like Ben's Chili Bowl. You can bring in one sealed water bottle per person, and single-servings of snacks. But you can't bring in guns or anything heavy like that.
April 18, 200917 yr do you all think that will be corny? That stuff sounds fine, just don't stand and sing during "take me out to the ball-game", cause that sh!ts played out. :thumbdown Personalizing it for Cody might send him the wrong message :whistle just kidding, I love the 7th inning stretch
April 18, 200917 yr omg i just noticed we had so many non-floridians. we have someone from JAPAN! and a lot from DC. Speaking of which, I saw and heard, on TV, a few people celebrate at the game. and am i getting this correctly? a guy from mass. is going to a game in DC with a bunch of Cubans? what are Cubans doing up there and how do they know someone from Mass? As a Cuban, I find this disturbing because I have always been taught there are Cubans everywhere and I thought that was a myth. I am starting to realize that everywhere I go I will never be far from a Cuban. Now, whether that's a good or bad thing is a different story.
April 18, 200917 yr I'm a Floridian, but I just happen to live in Japan for work purposes. It's going swimmingly I must add. Regardless, GO MARLINS!!!!
April 18, 200917 yr There's also a member from Korea, aswell as a few Europeans although their countries escape me (I remember a couple are from the UK, at the least)

I'm Cuban...I was born in Miami but moved to Mass when I was 9. Grew up in Mass but spent a lot of time in Miami over the Summers. I don't recall meeting other Cubans in Mass but there are several in DC. DC has a large population of UF alumni so every Cuban I meet here is a UF alumni. I was at the game with three other cubans last night (don't know if you heard us celebrating, only one of us was wearing teal b/c we went out after). Overall I know probablly 10 other cubans here in DC
April 18, 200917 yr I am a Marlin fan from Greece. I lived in Florida, but moved here last summer. I am a big Marlin fan, as well as Panther fan, but its difficult for me to watch the games here because I cant seem to find any sites that show the game (dont feel like paying for MLB service).

I study here and there are a lot of Cube students, but for the most part we are not residents of MA. We just sorta come and go.

April 19, 200917 yr Oh, I'm more of a MadTV person. Though I don't watch that much either since Nicole Sullivan left.
