Bonifacio's Nickname

Featured Replies

I don't want the guy to fail, but I just don't see him ever figuring out pitchers now that they have figured him out.

Hell of a first week, but what can a zero power zero contact guy contribute to a team?

I liked what he brought to the table today, incidentally.

Boni is my pic. He will come around. Leading the Marlins in stolen bases and still batting .274 He is a solid third baseman. Speed kills. Period.

Can't steal first base.

Can't steal first base.

Nice witticism, but it really depends on your definition of "steal". the mets 2b didnt even have a chance on EB's IF hit today. getting to first easily on balls that others may have been thrown out on is not "stealing" as it appears in the stat column, but it is something similar.

I doubt he gets replaced anytime soon, anyway. I bet our offense will start clicking again soon.

I think he will be valuable, I don't think he is ready and I don't like him getting the most possible PAs. Bonifacio 9th to score on Baker / Hanley / Jorge work

His speed was an asset on a defensive play last night when Reyes layed down the bunt and Boner got to it so quickly that Reyes was out by a mile at 1st. Overall Boner's defense has been pretty good, making his recent slump at the plate more bearable. Better signs with 2 hits last night tho, maybe he is adapting to the pitchers.

Rab, that statement belongs with "A strikeout is just like any other out."

On the stat sheets you are right. In real life........

I just don't like seeing someone on base with "due up: Maybin, pitcher, Bonifacio" Doesn't inspire much hope at the moment. But maybe it will turn around.

Are you telling me that Jackie Robinson was a stat head?

Lets Call Bonifacio--- "Hot and Cold"

Cause you're hot then you're cold

You're yes then you're no

You're safe then you're out

You're up then you're down

You're wrong then it's right

It's black and it's white

You strikeout, we break up

you hit, we make up

It's still only April.

I'm inclined to back a player who's got upside offensive potential so long as they hold they hold there own defensively, and EB has done that.

On the nickname, I still maintain that it's a fruitless search. I challenge all to bring something that's not boner-related. That's obviously not going to work on any level beyond 7th grade playground. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's going to take a comedic genius to come up with a rhyming nickname.
