Featured Replies

I'm in Chi-town for the 1st time!

Going to Wrigley today with my Marlins jersey, Steve Bartman mask, and a giant stuffed goat.......

Just playin bout the last 2 but can't wait to experience Wrigley Field!

GO MARLINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2:20 start for this one. I wonder if Hanley will be able to play today?

I'm going to say no (just a guess obviously) but if I were Fredi I figure.... We've won 3 straight without him and he still has pain in his hand, our defense is improved without him in the field and we rookie pitcher that is going to need all the defense he can get...

Hanley should come back this weekend

Doesn't look like it:

Hanley Ramirez (wrist) tried to hit in the batting cage before Thursday's game but cut the session after just five minutes.

When asked how it went, Ramirez said, "Not good." His right hand, which was nailed with a John Maine pitch Monday night, remains swollen. He might not return until early next week.

no Hanley

Not completely unexpected, Hanley Ramirez was not in the starting lineup on Friday afternoon.

The All-Star shortstop, still resting his sore right hand, has not played since he was struck by a pitch in the first inning on Monday against the Mets at Citi Field.

On Friday at Wrigley Field, the Marlins are once again going with Alfredo Amezaga at shortstop.

Ross Gload also was in the starting lineup, playing right field in place of Cody Ross. John Baker is back at catcher, and Jeremy Hermida is hitting third for the second straight game.

sounds like:

Bonifacio

Baker

Hermida

Cantu

Uggla

Gload

Maybin

Amezega

Keep the streak alive, ladies and gentlemen.

With the sole exception of April 5, when the Braves/Phillies game was the only game played on Opening Night, the Marlins held at least a share of the lead during the entire month of April

rotoworld is messed up... lol

" Hanley Ramirez-SS-Marlins May. 1 - 11:58 am et

Hanley Ramirez (wrist) felt strong Friday morning and could be available to pinch hit as the Rays take on the Red Sox Friday night.

Ramirez has missed three games since leaving Monday night with a bruised hand and wrist. He could return to the starting lineup this weekend. "

Less than 18 hours after Hanley Ramirez cut short his hitting session in the cage and said things did not go well, he told manager Fredi Gonzalez Friday morning he felt good and wanted to play.

Gonzalez was skeptical.

?I just to make sure,? Gonzalez said. ?He went from 10 swings on the tee to feeling real good. That?s the competitiveness in him.?

So Ramirez is not in the Friday?s lineup but could be available to pinch-hit.

THE LINEUP

Marlins: Bonifacio 3B, Maybin CF, Hermida LF, Cantu 1B, Uggla 2B, Baker C, Gload RF, Amezaga SS, Taylor P.

I am stunned that Freddi would drop John Baker to 6th in favor of Maybin. Even Gload has looked like a better #2 hitter. I guess Cameron had some good swings yesterday.............the best guess I can muster is that he doesn't want the top of his line-up to be L/L/L..........

Im also shocked to see baker 6. I guess hes going with the "if it aint broke dont fix it" saying, and like you said 3 lefties in a row. But Boni and maybin have been looking much better.

Fredi always plays on the side of caution with injuries but id woulda let hanley take some BP then decided if i thought he could play.

If Maybin keeps playing the way he's playing, i'm fine with the speed at the top of the lineup... we just need the top 3 to get on base... our #4 is the key to this offense and if he can't get it done Baker is back there to mix in a "professional AB"

if Taylor have other rocky start i see marlins sending him down again

my, what amazing foresight you have

:p

Looks like a real moist day..http://radar.weather.gov/Conus/centgrtlakes_loop.php

i wonder how many k's mabin and boni wil combine for against harden, who is a strike out machine.
