West up, Leroux up.

Source: 790 Post Game.

Wow.

Sean West will be starting tomorrow.

Chris Leroux is NOT an outfielder. DVH confused me. Reliever.

West! We're saved!

I am truely surprised Nolasco got sent down, really, shocked. Maybe this could be the jolt this team needs, but making this team our farm system just isn't the answer to our neverending problem.

BTW, that's what a 9.50+ERA will do to you over a month and a half. You can't be that bad and expect to stay on the major league squad.

:o .... eventhough I wanted him to be sent down someplace I am VERY suprised. Like I said.... they have to earn their spot on the team. Nice to see things being shaken up.

Davidson DFA'd, not sent to AAA.

Leroux and his 5.89 ERA in the majors...ruh roh.

(My post went up first! But I concede defeat)

have the marlins given up on the season? Pulling a Nationals and calling all their minor leaguers up?

I also believe I was among the firs to mention West as a possible call up in April only to get laughed at. Guess management weren't as picky at the suggestion as you guys may be.

Like a high MLB ERA has stopped us before. Koronka's MLB ERA was over 6 when he got called.

it's not a good thing. It's a reflection of how bad the team is right now.

When you mentioned it, he had thrown 12 innings in AA and we didn't need him. He proceeded to get the sh*t beat out of him for the next 4 starts too.

It's like those people who said "I told everyone that the Dolphins were going 11-5 and you all laughed!" and such. Just because it ended up happening didn't make it smart or informed, especially when the situation changed after.

I didn't say it was a good thing, just saying that I felt that he would be called up a while back. Not happy about the call up this soon, wanted to see West as a marlin in the year 2010 (late 2010 at that), and don't want West to take the Andrew Miller route, being rushed to the majors, but at this point, I guess you have to try everything. Not what I was hoping, but we cannot judge until we see what happens.

Leroux over Hensley?

I actually meant in the minors...that's Leroux's ERA in AA.

They can only do so much. Can't make chicken with turkey kwim?

well its not like the FO hasn't drafted pitchers in the draft in the past, its not like we haven't molded guys in the minors, and these are the guys we are calling up? A guy who has a 6+ ERA in AA???? There has to be better than that in our system.

EDIT: Thanks for the correction Benched. I was really getting worried, 4.89 still ain't the best of ERA's. But I guess its the best we have to offer, and that is kinda sad.

what is Sean West record in new orlean???

what is Sean West record in new orlean???

4.89 ERA, 4-2, 42.2 IP, 50 K's 22 BB's, 1.56 WHIP

yeah, these are his Jacksonville Suns stats

You understand that West hasn't been pitching in New Orleans I hope :banghead

There's no way he's ready. We're going to need to make a move.

Ben Sheets?

I understand the payroll restrictions the marlins operate under but it bothered me this off season that we did not attempt to resign arthur rhodes , who ended up signing a 2 year 4 million dollars deal , or Joe Nelson who was willing to come back if we would have have raised our offer by 200k . Neither men are great pitchers but have shown themselves to be solid relievers . With the Marlins payroll to be a success every thing from the health of the starting pitching, the patchwork of triple A and journey man relievers , and young talented position players must click to work . if any element of that equation fails we dont have the depth in the minors(aa- aaa) and are not committed to paying major league players to acquire that depth to overcome adversity.

He's in Jacksonville.
