Stanton to AA Jacksonville

Featured Replies

I get called crazy for saying he will be brought up this season. The future is now. Dump half the roster and let Coghlan, Morrison, Sanchez, and Stanton battle it out.

No, you get called crazy because you believe the us government blew up the trade centers, and that the illuminati control the world and because you believe in chemtrails and listen to that crazy dude on 610 late at nights and you wear tin foil hats and talk to your cats.

No, you got called crazy because you wanted to call him up 2 weeks ago.

Oh, and that.

I dont hate the guy at all. Just dont see the potential some others do.

Gonna admit you were wrong on the hr/pa thing?

And did we ever get confirmation on whether it was Morrison's thumb or wrist?

No. He was at 47/HR in the NYPL, 53/HR in the FSL, parks that would lend themselves more to the field at Dolphin Stadium. He was better at Greensboro and Carolina, both hitters parks.

Either way, it averages out to about 1/38 AB for his career. The average # of ABs for a MLB 1B per season over the past 5 years is around 480. That is just about 10 HR/year, although I would expect it to be lower bringing up the tougher hitters environment.

LOL, you bend the sh*t out of those numbers to make them fit. You make it sound as if you were basing it off a full 162 game season, first off, and even in 480 at bats you are looking at 14 at his pace, which I believe is 1/35.5, though that's kind of nit picky.

So yeah, if he doesn't play a full season, and you judge him by his absolute worst performances (rather than the 21 home runs in basically a real full season's worth of at bats over his last season +) he projects to 10 home runs a year. good call.

He does enough well that if he hits 15 home runs, he'll be a very nice player. He'll never be an all star, but unless you are wildmarlin, nobody judges a players worth by being an all star. You can be a productive and valuable member of a good team at first base if you hit 15-20 homers, walk 60-ish times, and hit .280.

You are being irrational when it comes to him. You have to being stuff so that it fits your preconcieved notions. That's a bad sign.

bob now you know what I go through with spike .Not that I care I think Sanchez will have his time to prove what he can do. Not 33 AB in spring training which I don't think it was fair nor I think 80AB for Maybin also was not fair.

You're not very smart, that would be ludicrous.

I never thought 9-11 was an inside job. I just believe the whole government is BS. C'mon, you actually believe there is one guy hiding in the mountains responsible for blowing up the trade centers and every few months he releases a tape? hahahaha. It's the government trying to scare us of terrorists. Have you ever played the game "Risk"? The first thing you are supposed to do is secure your borders. Well, obviously we are SOOOO SCARED of terrorists we just leave the borders WIDE OPEN! The government would rather take over car companies, spend obsene amounts of money, print more money. What's next is government healthcare, taking over the internet, and nationalization of the banks. You watch. There is a reason Tea Parties are growing.

Sorry for the politics talk. I never was crazy. Stanton would be our 3rd best hitter if we called him up right now. He's that good. 2-4 with 2 RBI. He's a beast.

Wait, so the government is basing its strategies off a board game and the movie Swordfish? Brilliant!

You realize everyone on this forum thinks your opinion on Sanchez is laughable, right? Literally no one on earth agrees with your stance on him.

If he proves me wrong he proves me wrong, but I have my doubts about him. Alot of people do. Morrison isnt moving to LF because of Sanchez, if we had a competent outfielder to take Hermida and Cody's spot along with Stanton Morrison would still be the heir apparent at 1B.

I don't know if many people agree with either of you about Gaby.

The only thing I question is what his eventual power output will be. I am not the only person to question it, his low power potential has always been a concern.

Thats alot different than calling him a future MVP and Hall of Famer. At least my argument is based in reality.

More people think he'll at least be average. And that's based on his actual stats. It'd be awesome if you had actually looked at my previous post.

I typed this out on my phone and you haven't responded to it at all. You suck.

In his 2nd game Stanton went 0-3 with a walk and a strikout.

Bum.

Release his ass.

This is a real post from the 2nd week of Stanton's major league debut.

Im looking forward to next year and our prospects making the bigs, but at the same time i think of all the growing pains and how painful it will be to watch. Fred will have his hands full with and OF of stanton, morrison, and maybin. Plus Gaby at 1st.
