Thank God baseball is back...I hate the all star break.

It wasn't exactly long. HRD Monday, ASG Tuesday, off day yesterday, and we're back.

Three days without baseball and no other real sport going on is an eternity.

But it wasn't, it was 1 day without baseball.

If you like the rah rah of the All Star game, sure. Its just not real baseball to me. Its still an exhibition game in my eyes.

Safe by a mile.

Yeah, that was a terrible call, I don't think anyone needed slow-mo to see that.

Sure it is, but it's baseball. It's something to watch, something too keep you occupied.

Watching the Phillies broadcast on Comcast... You can hear more than 1 F bomb over the air coming from Victorino in the dugout

Jesus, everyone being interviewed is saying how huge and critical this series is, then Hermida comes on and says this isnt that big of a series. HE doesnt even sound fired up.

OMG HE'S NOT FIRED UP!

He never has a sense of urgency. Its always, theres more games after this. It doesnt sound like he wants to win and doesnt care if we dont.

Or maybe he's just trying to keep a sense of perspective. One of the problem, when you're a player, of saying this is a huge series is that if you lose it it sounds like you've died.

The other guys were keeping a sense of perspective as well. They were saying this is a huge series and a huge oppurtunity though. Jeremy just said in a seemingly non caring tone, this is a big series, but there are still 70 games left.

If only Hermida cared more, that would be a home run.

If only Hermida wasn't an average player, that would be a home run.

On a more serious note, the Fish are going to need more offense from their catcher position if they want to make a run at this division. Paulino and Baker have both really fallen off from their hot starts. Paulino especially, who is supposed to mash lefties...his numbers versus lefties this year have fallen into the "unimpressive" category.

IF the only reason he is on this team is because he can hit rightys, then we need to go another way and just end this experiment and just admit we failed. He really doesnt do anything well except be patient.

Not at all, we are going to need better defense from the catcher position. There arent many teams with even the production that we have from the catcher position.

What production are you talking about? The whole reason we have Baker and Paulino are for their offense...certainly not for their defense lol. Their numbers have been steadily declining.
