July 22, 200916 yr The Marlins are giving me an ulcer. Meh! Like we need another pinch hitter? Okay, so the FO is in love with Boni and it's obvious, unless he tweaks something, that the dude is not coming out of the line up. We get it, fine. I'll just try to go to my happy place when I see him in the line up. BUT... Uggs is up and down. Cantu is having his own issues (I think dudeman is exhausted cause he's been playing since the WBC.). Anyway, Plug Gaby at 3rd for a few games. Bring BC to play right, Herms at left, CC at second and Gload/Helms at 1st. I realize it's a psychotic but, at this point in time, I really don't care. Uggs, if you stick to statistics, isn't going to have a good second half. (You never know but...let's stick with what we know), Boni, I don't have a problem with him, I think he could be pretty alright but, what's the point for all of that speed if you can't get on base and once you do, you get caught stealing? I could totally excuse his errors at third if he would just produce offensively a bit more. I am wondering when his love fest will end? Perhaps in spring training when he still doesn't produce? And Cantu, I think, needs a bit of a break. As for our batting issues how many people think it's the batting coach? I realize he's got a lot to deal with considering that our crew, this year, doens't seem to make adjustments. But, seriously, how many called three strikes are you gonna let pass by? Awesome.

Awesome. dude totally lost me when he said to take Cantu out of the lineup. He's hitting .288 this month,. He's not always gonna be hitting .324 like he did last month, I'd totally call for somebodys head if we took Cantu out of the lineup.
July 22, 200916 yr Look @ the bolded for what I think is awesome. He theorized that EB would finally lose his job if he does poorly in Spring Training. :lol
July 22, 200916 yr Really, Fredi Gonzalez is a complete douchebag. There's no way this was Fredi's decision, given how much of a yes-man he's reputed to be.
July 22, 200916 yr Really, Fredi Gonzalez is a complete douchebag. There's no way this was Fredi's decision, given how much of a yes-man he's reputed to be. Yea, I was just jumping to conclusions. Point is, who ever decided this is a douche.
July 22, 200916 yr If true, and I'm not doubting it because we have 13 pitchers currently on the roster, the only reason I can see for bringing a guy up from a hitter's league whose offensive numbers have been steadily dropping the last couple weeks is to display him for a trade. Hometown-boy's fans shouldn't get all excited just yet. He's not getting traded, Bob. He's going to start. Yea. Okay.

Where's your crystal ball, I'd like to see if I could still get a bet in on the World Series winner if it's not too much trouble for you to find...
July 22, 200916 yr Look @ the bolded for what I think is awesome. He theorized that EB would finally lose his job if he does poorly in Spring Training. My attention span didn't take me that far. As soon as I saw "take Cantu out of the lineup" I stopped reading, for srs.

He also hit well in the SL last year, when he was named MVP. So, you're getting on him because the PCL sucks? Have we learned nothing from the first half of '08 and the frst half of '09 with Cantu and Boni? Is Gaby somehow going to magically beat the odds and play pretty near flawless defense after 31 starts there in AAA? He played himself out of the 1B job in ST. His defense there wasn't very good. Or maybe he is just a slow starter and every time I saw him play in Spring he was living up to that, even tho he knew it was a must situation. The Marlins reportedly have tried to trade him with Boston for relief pitcher Manny Delcarmen. Every article and quote says he is here to pinch hit. Tommy and Rich say he is here to pinch hit. Maybe he gets a spot start. Maybe. So excuse me if I don't have to run and take a cold shower over a bench player that most likely won't even be up here very long. Especially one that has never shown he can handle defense or offense at this level with the exception of a whopping 8 ABs last year. If he shows differently I would welcome him with open arms. But don't count on it happening.
July 23, 200916 yr Cantu and bonifacio are also pretty awful at third, and I'm going to guess cantu is better than gaby at first. We saw how long it took cantu to get comfortable at third last season, there's no saying he would be able to even be the merely below average player he was once he got comfortable last year. At least Gaby's been playing there all year. 30 games at 1B and 31 at 3B. Not all year there.
July 23, 200916 yr I just find it funny that you've still yet to express any doubt about boner, but you are doubtful of all other comers. I guess the failure you know is better than a potential failure or succes that you don't know. As to your post about games played, He has played there throughout the year. Your post does nothing to make mine incorrect.
July 23, 200916 yr And secondly what's the f***ing point of bringing him up to sit on the bench? Why not give boner a few days off and see if gaby looks comfortable? How much do we stand to lose? I agree. I don't know why we'd bring him up just to have him sit on the bench. He was in line for a starting job heading into spring training....how can we tell if he's going to be part of the future of this team if he gets an at-bat once every four games? This is one reason I'm coming up with trade bait. But it wouldn't surprise me if 2003 is right and it has something to do with another trade and seeing if he can fill in a slot here. And I've said it before. Be careful what you wish for. Just because he's a home town boy dosen't mean crap between the lines.
July 23, 200916 yr Remember that one time bronco said gaby put up a .216 obp 'at this level' and then when everyone called him on it because what he meant was 'in spring training' he never responded? That was fun. You know how you like to call anyone who didn't think starting boner and his sub-.600 ops at third base and in the leadoff spot a 'hater'. I think it's perfectly safe to call bronco a gaby hater.
July 23, 200916 yr I have never understood BroncoBob's never ending support of Bonifacio. welcome to the club
July 23, 200916 yr I have never understood BroncoBob's never ending support of Bonifacio. The funny part is he will bash Sanchez all day without giving him a chance. But, when it comes to Boner and his .500 OPS, BroncoBob says he's "adjusting".

I think it's perfectly safe to call bronco a gaby hater. Try keeping up. Not a Gaby hater, just watching him play never saw what was so great about him. Shabby defense and couldn't hit at this level in ST when he knew he had to perform. And right now just trying to figure out why he was called up instead of a couple guys that were far out playing him in AAA. For example....Someone just said Maybin's .340 (or so) BA in AAA translates to about .275 at this level. What does anyone think a .284 BA at AAA translates to at this level? In ST vs the starting pitchers of other teams is pretty much at this level. Gives an idea of what can be expected. Hence the "long" stay at AAA, the move to another position in an attempt to up his worth, and the attempt to trade him. But we will see what happens. If he fails again or is traded there is always the fall back excuse of "He never got a fair shot here." If he succeeds in some capacity, good for him. I like surprises. And when the name calling and twisting of what I say starts, I leave the conversations. No sense in corresponding with immature posters that way. Better just to move on. Kinda like right now.

LOL, you can't be serious. You never saw anything great in Gaby, yet you saw something great in Boner? Yea, I really doubt that. He had a long stay in Triple A because he had an injury. He was moved to third base to get him comfortable there. He might replace Bonifacio, ya know. I know, shocking. The bolded part is what kills me. You like suprises? Wtf? So, you really think Gaby Sanchez is that bad? Look, we know you hate Sanchez. And the reason is simple. Because he is a threat to Bonifacio.
