Posted July 30, 200915 yr This list was found at http://www.rotoinfo.com/read_article.php?articleId=380 and explicitly says UNCONFIRMED. However, it does make you think. Two members of the team at the time were on the list: Pudge and Derrek Lee. Other players who played in previous years were also listed: Gary Sheffield, Antonio Alfonseca, Matt Clement, Livan Hernandez, Moises Alou, and Cliff Floyd. On the other hand, the Cubs got slammed harder with players on their 2003 team: Alou, Sosa, Corey Patterson, Aramis Ramirez, Clement, Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, and Carlos Zambrano. That's right, the ENTIRE Cubs' starting rotation AND ENTIRE OUTFIELD for the 2003 NLCS was rumored to be juicing! It's gotta make you think.
July 30, 200915 yr it's a random list by a random person posted on the web to get attention it shouldn't make you think
July 30, 200915 yr We already discussed this. This list doesn't have enough small name guys and seem like a bunch of finger pointing at star athletes from different teams.
July 30, 200915 yr I've already accepted the fact that pretty much every player for the last 45-50 (Let's not kid ourselves, this sh*t dates back to even the 50's) years was roiding in some way.
July 30, 200915 yr Everybody said Canseco and Caminiti were full of $h!t when they said 70-80% of players were on the juice, I hate to say it but they probably weren't that many percentage points off. As for the title it looks like the couple players on the list that were on the Marlins pails in comparision to the Giants, Cubs and Yankess the teams they beat.
July 31, 200915 yr There were a heck of a lot of players doing steroids in those years. There were players in every organization at some point that dipped into performance enhancers at some point. I don't condone what these players did but it does taint their individual accomplishments. But there is absolutely no way that the success of an entire organization could be diminished because one player in that organization was using steroids. It's not like the Marlins broke a longstanding counting stat record with their championship in 2003- they won against other teams that were composed of steroid users themselves. The championship is given to the team that comes out above all others in the playoffs. The Marlins did that- end of story. And it should be mentioned that we beat Barry Balco himself on the way to get there. And then the Sammy Sosa-led Cubs. And then Roger Clemens, Jason Giambi, and all the other steroid users on the Yankees.
July 31, 200915 yr Wow big deal 2 of our players we're supposivly on roids while 3 of the Yankee Players we're actually caught(Giambi, Clemens and Pettite) and 4 more Yankees we're on that proclaimed list. To add, i think Pudge could have been on steroids or some type of preformance enhancer but Lee was skinny back then and didn't have his best seasons til a few years later.
July 31, 200915 yr to be honest, I can bet money that every world series winning team in the past 20 or so years has had more than one player on some sort of performance enhancing drug.
July 31, 200915 yr I would like much more to find out who is breaking the law by releasing those names and the NY Times be hugely fined for breaking the law by trying to find out the names. Results ordered sealed means exactly that. This crap is never going to end until leaks are plugged, employees that are leaking (and making $$$ for doing it) are severly diciplined and fired, and orgs such as the Times start paying hefty fines. MLB should be congratulated for cleaning up the game and we need to move on. This message brought to you by Ozzie Rants, Inc. and is endorsed by the poster.

The worst thing that could possibly happen is that this just gets covered up. Because then all that will happen is the few names that are out will be crucified and everyone else will be assumed to be clean. It's dishonest and will taint that era more than knowing as much as we possibly can. If they release that whole list and there are 8 people on it who were stars and everyone else is a bum, maybe we can finally be rational about this discussion.

July 31, 200915 yr If you think any World Championship team in the past 25+ years did not have any steroid users on it, you are kidding yourself.
