Something I noticed about our schedule, figured this was as good a place as any to post it:

Month by Month
Split	W	L	RS	RA	WP

April	14	8	112	105	.636
May	9	20	119	161	.310
June	17	11	131	120	.607
July	14	10	104	88	.583
August	7	5	80	73	.583

The main culprits of May's debacle being the Rays, Brewers, Cubs, Dbacks and Dodgers - none of which we play from here on out.

May really was an awful month. I know "fans" who told me the season was over then. Heh.

Looking at our September schedule, we have the privilege of facing the Nationals for 2 series, Reds for a 4-game series, and the struggling Mets for 2 series. Those are the series we have to win.

If we play .583 ball the rest of the way (how we've played in July and August), we end up with about 88 wins. That may be enough to win the WC, but it would be nice if we could get to 90 wins.

It would be nicer to 6-0 the Phillies and take the division, but the Wild card is obv acceptable

I guess we control our own destiny regardless. Do we play the Giants again or are we done with them?

No more Giants....Left on Schedule: Col., @Hou., @Atl, NYM, SD, Atl, @Wsh, @NYM, Wsh, @StL, @Cin, Phl, NYM, @Atl, @Phl

We could win 12 of those 15 series'(exceptions to Philly and St.Louis where it can go either way) and even have 2 or 3 sweeps in that stretch.

I'm confident that if we play like the way we have been offensively and the bullpen and back end of the rotation can be solid then we could make the playoffs one way or another.

Do not underestimate Atlanta.

Yeah I thought I was the only one thinking this. Atl is only 1 GB us.

Do not underestimate Atlanta.

I'm not but we have had success against them this season so far being 5-3 and the way our offense has been hitting I have high hopes that we can take 2 out of 3 from Atlanta. There lineup is filled with Lefties which could be trouble for our pitchers but we have faired well against them so far. Only pitcher that worry's me is Vasquez since he shut us down here in Florida but we should be able to figure him out(Ryan Howard sure did)we face him game 1. Hanson give me a few worries as well and he should going game 3 of that series.

Side Note.

Pending on Freddi's decision making but he has a good chance to bring Anibal up to pitch in game 2 of that series in Atlanta since either RVH or Volstad can pitch game one because they are going on the same days rest now, he can throw Volstad and give Anibal the 5 days he needs(he's pitching tomorrow in the minors).

Better yet, lets not underestimate any team. I, for one, won't.

To think we'd be the division leader at the moment had we simply gone even .500 in May.

But hey, as a Florida Panthers fan as well, I know it's not good to ask "what if" because you will sit there and go insane.

Giants and Colorado do face each other 7 more times. They both have a pretty tough schedule compared to us.
