September 15, 200917 yr I know crazier things have happened but does anyone know his value??? We have a lot of holes and we could plug them up real quick. I'm not necessarily calling for it but it could be possible.

They probably won't be as productive but at least in our favor Uggla has heated up to give us close to 30 HRs. We'll be able to get a good return now. That wasn't looking so good earlier in the season.

His overall numbers are good this year, but he hasn't shown the ability to go deep into games and I just don't trust in his future all that much. I'd trade him for a couple really good prospects. I'd also bring up Stanton and Morrison for cameo appearances after they capture the Southern League crown.

I don't think he's ever had a full season under his belt, so it's only natural he would tire so late in the season. Doesn't help when Fredi wants to play it safe and limit his innings as well. There's been a few games where JJ has been taken out where he could have gone another inning or two. JJ is the best we have in the organization as starting ptichers go. He is a legitimate ace and will most likely give you over 200 innings every year. No way we trade him unless someone wants to give us the farm for him. And that farm better be pitching. He is 12th in the NL in innings pitched at 188.1. He'll go over 200 innings barring a meltdown or them shutting him down for good.
September 15, 200917 yr Author It could be a sell high situation. If he doesn't sign long term this offseason, he will be traded. I think the organization has seen enough to make a decision.

I don't know how many more freaking times I'm going to have to post this same flipping comment, but here goes, for the umpteenth damn time: WHEN ARE THE MARLINS GOING TO STOP BUILDING FOR THE "FUTURE" AND GO FOR IT NOW????? Bringing in another set of prospects, that won't be out there for an approximate next two seasons !?! Trading our best player in one of our most overall deficient areas? This is a ludicrous statement on your behalf, and I'm glad that you aren't part of the FO. Also, stop trying to rush our minor leaguers. :banghead
September 15, 200917 yr if we trade JJ, that is the last straw for me as a Marlins fan... I have stuck with them time and time again, enduring every painful trade, but at the end of the day, I understood why they did it... THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE THIS TIME!!!!

We have the money now, we have the money longterm, and he is a cornerstone player you build around. We now have two of them with Hanley and Johnson, and god willingly Coghlan, Maybin, Volstad, and West turn into four more next year.

September 16, 200917 yr It would shock me this season, seeing as johnson has 2 more years of arb after this one However, it wouldn't shock by if trade happened in sometime between July 2010-July 2011. He would get us such a monster haul during July or December 2010.
